TOOTSIE's world premiere pre-Broadway engagement officially opens today at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL). The show runs through October 14 before opening on Broadway on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street).

Theater J's 2018 Annual Benefit is an elegant and lively evening of theater, socializing, and delectable food and drink at Arena Stage. The centerpiece of the event is a "sneak peek" reading of Ken Ludwig's brand new play Dear Jack, Dear Louise. Mr. Ludwig, a Tony and Olivier Award-winning playwright, directs the reading, which stars Tony Award nominees Santino Fontana and Laura Osnes. This celebration, which supports the nation's most distinctive and progressive Jewish theater, will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 6:30 PM at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.

Hillary Clinton made a cameo in the season premiere of MURPHY BROWN. Clinton didn't play herself, instead she was 'Hilary' with one 'L.' Hilary says she is often mistaken for the former presidential candidate, but she was at “Murphy in the Morning,” to interview for the secretarial position.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces a one-night-only evening with Broadway stars Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana onFriday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the intimate Kennedy Center Jazz Club.

School is back in session….in preparation for their return to NYC at MCC's Lucille Lortel Theater in October, the cast of School Girls, or, The African Mean Girls Play, currently playing at CTG's Kirk Douglas Theatre in LA through September 30th was photographed by Luke Fontana.  The shoot was styled by Bold in Africa with the stylist being Kemiyondo Coutinho and they are all dressed in current African designs. 

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts,  which brings audiences world-class theater, dance and music performed by many of the most sought-after artists,presents Chris Walden Big Band with a program that pays tribute to the "Rat Pack" era on Saturday, October 27, 2018, 7:30 pm,in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis. Walden, a seven-time Grammy-nominated composer/arranger/conductor, has scored more than 40 feature and TV films and written more than 1,500 orchestral and big band arrangements for artists ranging from Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand to Diana Krall and Rihanna, among many others.

The coffeehouse meets the cabaret, as poets and performers attempt to stave off their Seasonal Affective Disorder on Friday, October 12, in 'Poetry/Cabaret: STRANGE' at The Green Room 42. Curated and hosted by Thomas March, author of the newly-released collection Aftermath, the 'Poetry/Cabaret' series unites poets and performers in an evening of wild variations on a theme.

TOOTSIE will open on Broadway on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street). Broadway preview performances will begin on Friday, March 29, 2019.

The premiere of the highly anticipated MURPHY BROWN revival will feature an extended episode, written by series creator/executive producer Diane English, Thursday, Sept. 27 (9:30-10:05 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Following MURPHY BROWN, the second season premiere of S.W.A.T. will air 10:05-11:05 PM, ET/PT. THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT will begin at its regularly scheduled time, 11:35 PM, ET/PT.

They're joined by Mike and Liz, apparently a couple of lookie-loos who decided to drop by and take a peek at the house for sale. The three couples get to chatting and begin to marvel at just how much they have in common. WAY too much in common, in fact. So much in common that it begins to become surreal.

In this intimate evening Bean will share songs from her newest chart-topping album, Spectrum. Inspired largely by Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, and Barbra Streisand, Bean will weave through haunting originals, new workings of contemporary hits and beloved classics.
