La Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (OSN) del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal) ofreció este viernes una noche de regocijo y encanto, pero también de dramatismo y emoción, con música de los más destacados compositores alemanes. Además, sorprendió al público con la variedad de su dotación instrumental y el manejo del escenario.

Building upon the success of the first free BSO Neighborhood Concert, held at Dorchester's Jeremiah E. Burke High School last November, the Boston Symphony Orchestra will perform the 2022–23 season's second free concert at UMass Lowell's Durgin Concert Hall (inside Durgin Hall), 35 Wilder Street, Lowell, on Tuesday, February 28, at 8 p.m. These performances broaden the BSO's mission to reach and connect with new audiences in neighborhoods within and beyond Boston. 

A favorite piece of music is like an old friend. Always there for you, brings you comfort, and lifts your spirits. On Saturday, February 25th, the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra is rediscovering some old friends and making new ones at their classic concert, Hidden Treasures.

The internationally acclaimed American pianists Ursula Oppens and Jerome Lowenthal will perform in an Music Academy concert on Thursday evening, March 9, 2023, at 7 PM, PST, at Music Academy of the West's Hahn Hall (1070 Fairway Road Santa Barbara, CA 93108). This concert, entitled 'Lowenthal's Legend,' honors and celebrates the extraordinary pianist and preeminent pedagogue Jerome Lowenthal, who has served as a Music Academy teaching artist for half a century.

Guest artists include 2022 Avery Fisher Career Grant winner, saxophonist Steven Banks, 2022 Grammy Award winners, and more.

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. Throughout 2023, will be presented of Il Seraglio, by Mozart, Cinderella, by Viardot, The Cunning Little Vixen, by Janácek, Dido and Eneas, by Purcell, among others. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), presents Sunday evening organ recitals under the direction of Kent Tritle, Director of Cathedral Music and Organist. From iconic works of J. S. Bach, to the mystical harmonies of Jeanne Demessieux and Maurice Duruflé, to new compositions by our own Cathedral organists, these programs explore a diverse array of musical traditions inside the Gothic interior of our Cathedral.

A new piano concerto, entitled Permutations for Piano and Orchestra, by celebrated American composer Robert Chumbley will be premiered by the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Symphony Orchestra on Saturday evening, March 25, 2023, 7:30 p.m. EST.
