Forty years ago, three struggling artists (writer/director Robin Hirsch, actor Charles McKenna, visual artist Raphaela Pivetta), opened a one room storefront cafe on Cornelia Street in the heart of the West Village.  With a toaster oven and an espresso machine, Cornelia Street Cafe became a magnet for artists of all genres, who soon found a home, and a willing and appreciative audience. That was on July 4, 1977.

The Seeing Place Theater, known for intense & intimate ensemble work, brings you Caryl Churchill's revolutionary masterwork, CLOUD 9 - co-directed by TSP's artistic team, Brandon Walker and Erin Cronican. This play kicks off 'The Empathy Initiative,' the company's year-long commitment to addressing oppression in all forms through the power of theater.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 26 at 10:00am ET for SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway at The Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway - Broadway at 47th Street). Preview performances begin Monday, November 6th with an official opening on Monday, December 4th.

4thU Artivists, a NYC-based theater group, announces their 2017-2018 call for submissions for their second full season of creative projects produced to raise awareness and funding to help end violence against women and girls. To date, they have raised over $110,000 for a number of well-established beneficiaries including Day One, Safe Horizons, and playwright Eve Ensler's V-Day and One Billion Rising.
