On Monday, May 1, HERE honors award-winning director Anne Kauffman and President of the Scherman Foundation, Mike Pratt, at HERE's annual gala.  This year's gala, entitled MOXIE!, begins at 6:00pm with The Sassy Supper at City Winery (155 Varick Street) featuring VIP Cocktail Reception, silent auction, dinner and performances, and continues with the Guts & Glamour Party, beginning at 8:30pm at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue), with cocktails, delectables, silent auction, performances and dancing.

Playwrights Stephen Orlov of Montreal and Samah Sabawi of Melbourne discuss their challenging artistic journey and creative process in editing this groundbreaking collection. Double Exposure: Plays of the Jewish and Palestinian Diasporas is the first English-language anthology worldwide by Jewish and Palestinian writers in any genre of drama, prose or poetry. This unique anthology about the Israel-Palestine conflict includes three plays penned by Jewish playwrights, three by Palestinian playwrights, and one by both. The afternoon also features scene readings by actors.

Table Pounding Music is proud to present two benefit concerts for the American Civil Liberties Union, produced by Grammy-nominated clarinetist David Krakauer, pianist-composer Kathleen Tagg and Table Pounding Music on Saturday, April 15th at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 24th at 6pm. This all-star group of virtuosic, boundary-pushing New York City musicians share two common attributes: a quest for pushing outside the box in their respective genres, exploring what it means to be a musician from multiple different angles; and a desire to use their artistic voices to raise funds for the protection of civil liberties. One hundred percent of the artist fees will be donated to the ACLU. The concerts will take place at Symphony Space. Please see the lineup and further details below. Blood! Obie Award-winner Jo Bonney directs the world premiere of an edgy, intense and darkly comic new play by John Pollono (Small Engine Repair, Lost Girls) in a Latino Theater Company production presented in association with The Temblors, a unique new collective of seven Los Angeles-based playwrights. Rules of Seconds opens March 23 at The Los Angeles Theater Center, with low-priced previews beginning March 16. 

The OBIE-winning HERE presents CULTUREMART 2017, taking place tonight, March 15, through March 25.

After a critically-acclaimed sell-out run in New York City, playwright,  performer and activist James Lecesne will bring his inspirational solo show, The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, to Hartford Stage from Thursday, March 30, through Sunday, April 23.  The play deftly navigates the effects of bullying and the search for identity while telling an uplifting story about love, overcoming prejudices, and being true to one's self.
