The Storm Theatre Company announced the cast and creative team for for its upcoming production of An Ideal Husband, the classic play by Oscar Wilde which will be presented at The Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres.

Opera Ithaca announces their 5th season since the company's founding in 2014. The 2018/2019 season will include Hamlet, A Little Night Music, La bohème and a double bill of Francesca Caccini's Liberation (La Liberazione di Ruggiero) and the world premiere of Kamala Sankaram and Rob Handel's Enchantress.

Kicking off the season will be Hip to Hip's first indoor offering: a free staged reading of Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part 2, finishing what Hip to Hip started with last season's triumphant production of Henry IV, Part 1. Shakespeare's action-packed and hilarious cavalcade of noble warriors, scheming rebels, and brawling tavern scoundrels, led by the iconic Sir John Falstaff, will be staged on April 28th at 2 pm at The Queens Museum; and April 29th at 7 pm at The Actors Company Theatre (TACT).

Hip to Hip Theatre Company's 2018 season has it all: historical saga, epic tragedy, and sparkling comedy.

Downtown alternative supper club Pangea -- a leader of the burgeoning alt-cabaret movement -- will showcase some of its most distinguished signature artists in a one-week festival of innovative cabaret art in January. Pangea's Winter Alt-Fest, running from Wednesday January 10 to Tuesday January 16, is programmed by Pangea's booker and co-owner Stephen Shanaghan.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents the 1951 film An American in Paris with live performances of the score, November 25 26 in Newark and New Brunswick. Gene Kelly stars as a former American GI who falls for Parisian Leslie Caron; the film features classic songs by George and Ira Gershwin.

Opera Ithaca presents the regional premiere of Thumbprint, a 90 minute English-language contemporary opera from composer Kamala Sankaram and librettist Susan Yankowtiz about Mukhtar Mai and her heroic fight for women's rights in Pakistan.  

Opera Ithaca will open its third season with a grand celebration entitled Masquerade, followed by the regional premiere of Kamala Sankaram's opera based on the story of Mukhtar Mai, Thumbprint, a New Year's Eve Gala to include Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio and a spring 2017 production of Rossini's Cinderella, in addition to several concerts and community events.

'Spanning small-town Windsor and sophisticated Venice, our 2015 season incorporates romance, wit, suspense and even finance. Join us as we explore both the outrageously funny and the sadistically dark sides of revenge and justice, commerce, courtship, and the social order,' said Jason Marr, Artistic Director of Hip to Hip.
