11 independent filmmakers developing 10 projects have been selected for the 2020 Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs, reimagined and expressed digitally this year on Sundance Co//ab.

The complete cast is set for Mill Mountain Theatre's upcoming Spring Musical: Dreamgirls, running March 25 - April 11 on the Trinkle MainStage. A dazzling journey through 20th-century American popular music, Dreamgirls follows the rising stardom of The Dreamettes, an all-girl Motown group from Chicago. Known for its 2006 feature film adaptation starring Jennifer Hudson, Dreamgirls is filled with show-stopping musical numbers from the genres of gospel, R&B, smooth pop, disco, and more.

Fifteen screenwriters will convene to advance their independent projects at Sundance Institute's January Screenwriters Lab, taking place at the Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah, from January 17-22, 2020. At the Lab, the screenwriters will immerse themselves in a rigorous and holistic creative process, working to further develop their scripts with the mentorship of accomplished Creative Advisors.

The Lillian S. Wells Foundation has donated a $5 million gift to complete the Broward Performing Arts Foundation's $30 million Campaign for the Parker that will provide capital improvements to the iconic Parker Playhouse.

Sundance Institute today announced Fellows and Advisors for the five-day 2019 Creative Producing Labs, as well as the three-day Creative Producing Summit which immediately follows; both take place at Utah's Sundance Mountain Resort. The Labs begins July 29, and the Summit August 2. These are the flagship convenings for the Institute's Creative Producing Program, which champions and develops current and rising generations of producers across fiction and nonfiction film.

Through one-on-one story sessions with Creative Advisors, Fellows take part in an artistically rigorous process that facilitates the deep exploration needed to fully realize their material. The Lab is the first step in a year-round continuum of customized creative and tactical support for each project and team.

Jazz Choreography Enterprises, Inc. presents The JCE Jazz Dance Project for its semiannual dance concert devoted exclusively to jazz. JCE features works from emerging to established choreographers. Since 2007, Artistic Directors Marian Hyun and Merete Muenter have presented more than 127 choreographers and 922 dancers from the U.S., Japan, South Africa, and Europe. The performances will be presented at The Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance. The theater is located at 126 East 13th Street.
