The Workshop Theater has, once again, dedicated a session of their Spring 2023 Workshop Intensive to HONOR ROLL!, an advocacy group for women+ playwrights over 40. The participants for this cycle are Diane Davis, Donna Hoke, Hortense Gerardo and Serena Norr with facilitators Leslie Kincaid Burby and Stephanie Kane.

SHADOWLAND STAGES has announced it has cast comedienne Kyle June Williams in its second production of the 2022 season - THE CROSSWORD PLAY (or Ezmeranda's Gift).

Theatre Aspen will present its second annual one-person show festival, Solo Flights, as the third act of this year’s 38th summer season, launching next Wednesday, August 25 and running through Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Hurst Theatre in Aspen, Colorado. 

The winner of the 2018 Emanuel Fried Award for Outstanding New Play, SONS & LOVERS by Donna Hoke is an engaging comedy about Ellen, a middle-aged woman at a crossroads in her life. Ellen knows the score – her son is gay, and her husband is cheating – but it’s so much easier to pretend than to talk about it. It takes fantasy, farce, and one fabulous mother and son discover just how makeover before the truth flies free, much they have in common, and Ellen realizes the reality she’s been avoiding most is her own. Ahead of the start of the 38th Season, Theatre Aspen announced today that after a successful first flight, the organization will present its second annual one-person show festival, Solo Flights, as the third act of this year’s summer season, August 25 – 31, 2021 at the Hurst Theatre in Aspen, Colorado.

The winners of the Finstrom Festival of New Work are Finding Neil Patrick Harris by Donna Hoke, The Guilt Mongers or Los Traficantes de Culpa (for those not willing to submit to the Anglicization of our people) by C. Julian Jiménez, The Equivalent of Sensation by Arianna Rose, One-Shot by Andrew Rosendorf and Baby Camp by Nandita Shenoy.

At Home Artist Project Presents: A Short Play Festival, featuring three short length plays. At Home Artists Project is a virtual space for new work.

Plays In Progress is a unique program to fostering new works by women playwrights. Each Spring playwrights are invited to submit previously unproduced plays which are read and scored by a team of readers.

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) is excited to announce The RLTP BETA Program (BETA), a new play development model that provides a collaborative workshop environment for playwrights, theatre students, and faculty, culminating in a fully realized production of new works. WNY playwright and RLTP Ensemble Member Jon Elston will see his play The Elliptical - which debuted at the Road Less Traveled Theater in 2008 -staged in a new production at Niagara County Community College (NCCC). The play is part of a double-bill titled Lost Time which will open Wednesday, April 2nd.
