Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) has announced its schedule of public development readings of plays developed in the 2014 Emanuel Fried New Play Workshop (NPW). Admission to all of these readings is FREE to the public and will include a free cup of coffee for all attendees.

"These plays are works-in-progress," explained RLTP Literary Director Jon Elston, "and hearing them read for an audience is an integral component of each playwright's ongoing development cycle." Readings are followed by response sessions, in which the audience is often encouraged to discuss the text. "Playwrights may gain valuable insight from these discussions," Elston suggested.

2014's NPW reading series includes readings of new plays by RLTP Ensemble Member Donna Hoke, as well as Courtney Frances Fallon, Rosa Fernandez, Joy Scime, Tracy Snyder, and Winifred M. Storms.

All readings are on Mondays at 7:30PM at the Road Less Traveled Theater (RLTT) at MAFAC (Market Arcade Film & Arts Center). Doors open at 7:00PM. No latecomers will be admitted after 7:30 PM.

Dates and information are subject to change. The schedule is as follows:

Law student Abby Gates has no qualms about becoming a sugar baby to get her tuition bills paid--until it means keeping a secret from the man she loves, an artist exploring confession and thresholds of shame. Directed by Steve Braddock and featuring Paul Todaro, Genevieve Lerner and Geoff Pictor.

9/29: Apple Of My Eye by Tracy Snyder

A terrible accusation threatens to destroy an already fractured family. Directed by Mary Poindexter McLaughlin.

A large extended family convenes for a contentious holiday meal rife with revelation. Directed by Victoria Perez.

10/27: Dissonance by Joy Scime

Buffalo in the Sixties: the Black and Italian-American musicians unions (content in their separation) are alarmed to learn they must now unite.

RLTP's Emanuel Fried New Play Workshop supports the development of original dramatic works by local playwrights. Under the supervision of Workshop Director Kyle LoConti and Literary Manager Jon Elston, playwrights provide peer support to one another during the composition and revision of their original plays over a nine month period. RLTP then presents readings of these new plays to the public, directed by and featuring some of WNY's finest theatrical talent.

Applications for the 2015 New Play Workshop will be accepted beginning 12/1/2014. Only electronic submissions (via e-mail) will be accepted. For more information, please visit www.roadlesstraveledproductions.org or contact Jon Elston at jelston@roadlesstraveledproductions.org .
