SISTER ACT Announces School Challenge Initiative

The SISTER ACT School Challenge Initiative is offering the chance for one lucky class from grades 5 through 9 to win a class field trip to SISTER ACT on Broadway. Teachers are invited to share their class' acts of kindness by submitting a photo of their class giving back to their community, along with the story behind it, for the chance to win a class field trip to SISTER ACT. For more information, visit www.schoolchallenge.tumblr.com. The SISTER ACT cast will choose the winning selection on January 13, 2012.

SISTER ACT to Partner with Bloomingdales for FASHIONABLE FUNDRAISER, 8/25

Cast members from the Broadway hit SISTER ACT will perform musical numbers from the show at Bloomingdale's 59th street (1000 3rd Ave.) on Thursday, August 25 at 4:30pm as part of the store's 'Fashionable Fundraiser' benefiting The Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR). In addition, Bloomingdale's will host makeovers in the Cosmetics Oval from 3:00-6:00pm. Costumes from SISTER ACT will also be on display exclusively for this event. At both the Bloomingdale's 59th street and Soho location (504 Broadway) shoppers who purchase over $400 in cosmetics and fragrances will receive a pair of tickets to SISTER ACT (while supplies last).

The resurrection of the cult classic, written by Jonathan Larson, is being directed by Michael Greif, who directed the show's original off-Broadway and Broadway productions. The creative team includes choreographer Larry Keigwin, music supervisor Tim Weil, set designer Mark Wendland, costume designer Angela Wendt, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Brian Ronan, and projection designer by Peter Nigrini.
