Lyric Opera of Chicago General Director Anthony Freud announced today four additional performances due to popular demand for Lyric Opera of Chicago's new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved Broadway musical The Sound of Music, April 25-May 25, 2014, at the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive. Additional performance dates are Today, May 23 at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 24 at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 25 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets start at $29 and are available now at lyricopera.org/soundofmusic or at 312-827-5600.

TIL DIVORCE DO US PART: THE MUSICAL, will conclude its 10-week engagement at the DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street in Union Square) after the matinee on Sunday, April 13th, prior to a national tour, which is soon to be announced. Mark Waldrop is the director with concept, lyrics and choreography by Ruthe Ponturo and music by John Thomas Fischer. The musical comedy revue opened to acclaim from critics and audiences alike. All the Way, the new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, starring BREAKING BAD's Bryan Cranston, opened on March 6, 2014, on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre. TIL DIVORCE DO US PART: THE MUSICAL, which begins previews on Friday, February 7th will be giving Valentine's presents to the entire audience on Friday, February 14th at the DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street- in Union Square). The producers of the show felt that everyone deserves to feel loved and appreciated. After all, the musical comedy is based on the real-life story of a woman who wrote this show while going through her own divorce from a Broadway producer, who left her for a much younger woman.
