Boroughs Of The Dead Teams Up With The Brooklyn Historic Society, The Merchant's House Museum, And The Green-wood Historic Fund

On October 10th, Boroughs of the Dead teams up with the Merchant's House Museum to present a special edition of our signature Edgar Allan Poe in Greenwich Village tour. This two-hour literary and historical walking tour traces a path into Edgar Allan Poe's life in Greenwich Village in the 1840s, where the author lived and worked at the height of his fame - before plunging irrevocably into the final, abysmal chapter of his short life. This tour will be led by Boroughs of the Dead founder, Poe fan, and horror author Andrea Janes.

Strawdog Theatre's MASQUE MACABRE Makes World Premiere This October

Just in time for Halloween, Strawdog Theatre Company launches its 31st season with the world premiere of MASQUE MACABRE, a dark and bloody thrill ride inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe - think Carrie meets Eyes Wide Shut. The handlers of a 'bad boy' entrepreneur go to extremes to give him one last big bash before his past catches up to him. An explorative immersive theatre experience a la Sleep No More, guests travel from room to room throughout the space and follow stories of revenge and murder as they play out in real time.

First Folio Theatre's THE MADNESS OF EDGAR ALLAN POE: A LOVE STORY Returns To The Stage This October

A compelling and thrilling story about life and death, love and heartbreak, THE MADNESS OF EDGAR ALLAN POE: A LOVE STORY is returning to the stage this Fall after playing to capacity audiences in 2015. Called 'A smart and heartfelt journey!" by The Chicago Tribune, "A masterful take on a master's work!" by The Daily Herald, and "A perfect storm of theater!" by Chicago Stage Review, Executive Director David Rice's captivating piece will return for its only engagement for the next five years with previews October 3, opening October 6, and running through November 4.

Edgar Allan Poe To Haunt Downtown Phoenix For Tenth Year

Arizona Curriculum Theater Inc. will be returning to Downtown Phoenix this October to present their 10th Annual Edgar Allan Poe Festival. Theatrical performances, events, and contests are planned throughout the month of October. The festival serves as a fundraiser and Student Writing Competition for the educational non-profit organization.

From THE WOODSMAN To New Music Inspired By Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart

Edward W. Hardy, acclaimed composer and virtuoso violinist released a performance video of his latest Edgar Allan Poe inspired composition entitled 'Evil Eye'. Back in May of 2018, this piece was premiered, along with the other two Poe inspired pieces Nevermore and A Fantasy, at his EtM Con Edison Composer-in-Residence concert at the Turtle Bay Music School. Hardy's 'Evil Eye', and 'Nevermore' were produced by himself, Jim McElwaine and recorded and mixed by Jonathan Jetter at Right Angle Recording, New York, NY.

Jobsite Theater Presents EDGAR & EMILY

Jobsite Theater, hot on the heels of their record-smashing season opener in Hedwig and The Angry Inch, continues their 20th Anniversary Season with a new comedy about two of America's most beloved dark literary figures just in time for Halloween! Joseph McDonough's Edgar & Emily is on stage Oct. 12 - Nov. 4 in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center where Jobsite is resident theater company.

Steven Dietz's ON CLOVER ROAD Starring Renee O'Connor Opens Sept. 21 At Little Fish Theatre

A seedy, abandoned motel room is the location of Steven Dietz's On Clover Road, where a desperate mother unites with a hard-boiled private investigator in the hope of reuniting with her cult-member young daughter. Opening September 21 in its Los Angeles premiere at Little Fish Theatre, On Clover Road spotlights a star turn by actor Renee O'Connor and is directed by StageSceneLA Award Winner and LFT company member Holly Baker-Kreiswirth.

The Burt Reynolds Institute Presents SHOTS!

Managing Director Donna Carbone announced the first offering in the Burt Reynolds Institute's new Plays in Progress black box theater series. Carbone, a published author and playwright, is also the moderator of the Institute's creative writing class. SHOTS! was written by 18-year-old Christina Karabiyik, a student in that class, and offers an in-depth look at gun violence from the perspective of those facing the possibility of death. Her reason for writing this play was personal. A few years ago, she lived directly across the street from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

ZEE JLF At Boulder Announces 2018 Program

The fourth installation of ZEE JLF at Boulder, produced by Teamwork Arts, will bring more than 70 authors from around the world to explore today's hot topics while engaging the community in essential dialogue. ZEE JLF at Boulder is in association with Boulder Library Foundation, the City of Boulder, and Boulder Public Library.

Creative Cauldron Announces 2018-2019 Season

The 2018-19 Season marks Creative Cauldron's tenth year producing and presenting live theater and music. This season includes a diverse range of programming for adults and families alike. Highlighting the season will be a world premiere musical, On Air, written by internationally produced duo Stephen Gregory Smith and Matt Conner.
