Award-winning choreographer/filmmaker MIMI GARRARD returns to New York Live Arts with a 'Live Dance and Video Project with Mimi Garrard and Austin Selden,' a program of World and New York Premieres of masterfully executed videos and live dance, Sunday May 13, 7:30 PM, at New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th Street. Black Button Eyes Productions' Announces 2018-19 Season

Black Button Eyes Productions is pleased to announce its 2018-19 season, kicking off late this summer with the world premiere of NIGHTMARES AND NIGHTCAPS: The Stories of John Collier, a non-musical adaption of British author and screenwriter John Collier's phantasmagoric short stories. Written and directed by Producing Artistic Director Ed Rutherford, the production will feature choreography by Derek Van Barham and star Kevin Webb with additional casting to be announced.

Virtuoso violinist and EtM Con Edison Composer-in-Residence Edward W. Hardy will be performing a mixture of musical genres with original music inspired by the writings of Edgar Allan Poe and L. Frank Baum along with other premieres and arrangements of Hardy's works. Hardy is one of the youngest composers to ever be accepted into the Exploring the Metropolis Con Edison Composer Residency and is one of the most prominent composer/ violinists of solo violin repertoire for theatrical productions in New York City.

Poe Theatre On The Air Revives Poe's Most Famous Works In New Podcast Series

On April 17, 2018, WYPR Baltimore will air the first in a series of new podcasts by The National Edgar Allan Poe Theatre On the Air, with its production of The Tell-Tale Heart. The series features fresh, 20- to 30-minute podcast adaptations of the best-known works of Edgar Allan Poe, America's renowned master of horror and suspense. Each episode guides listeners through a mental hospital where each cell houses Poe protagonists, each waiting to thrill audiences with dramatic re-tellings of familiar stories including The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, Berenice and The Cask of Antillado. Musical underscore and sound effects add even more suspense to the stirring character accounts, brought to life by a creative team of performing artists and talent from the Baltimore metro area.

Edgar Allan Poe is just coming off the success of 'The Raven'. So a wealthy dowager commissions him to write her a poem for a vast sum. Only problem: the man who shows up to write the poem isn't Poe, he's Poe's mailman, and he's on a quest to woo the dowager's spinster niece. This is a freewheeling, door-slamming farce with a touch of the macabre.
