Maryland playwright Bob Bartlett's time-bending play, THE ACCIDENT BEAR, comically traces the first and last moments of a love affair between the accident-prone Bear, who owns a coin-operated laundromat where he also lives, and Chance, an unemployed paramedic living in her 1978 Volkswagen Beetle, who stumbles into his lonely world.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) announced today that it has received a $2 million commitment from the Seller-Lehrer Family Foundation, Inc. (SLFF). The DGF is an established non-profit organization that fuels the future of American theater by supporting the writers who create it. DGF fosters playwrights, composers, lyricists, and book writers at all stages of their careers. DGF creates educational programs; provides awards, grants, and stipends; offers free space to create new works; and gives emergency aid to writers in need.
The Writers Studio at the Coachella Valley Repertory Conservatory presented its first-ever Twilight Showcase this weekend, a staged reading of 'The Desert of Love,' a new full-length play by Writers Studio member Bruce Bonafede. The play was directed by Andy Harmon and starred Domingo Winstead, Richard Marlow, Phylicia Mason, Dan Graff, Sean Timothy Brown and Lisa Hammert. The stage manager was Roy Boucher.

12 Peers Theater announces their eighth season featuring the return of Mythburgh, a site-specific performance and storytelling series, and two local premieres, Blank and Everybody. Blank is a performance piece by Nassim Soleimanpour, the mastermind behind 2016's White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Everybody is a 2018 Pulitzer Prize finalist by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins that remixes the classic Everyman for a modern audience. The play features a rotating cast of performers, ensuring no two performances are the same.
