Maryland playwright Bob Bartlett's time-bending play, THE ACCIDENT BEAR, comically traces the first and last moments of a love affair between the accident-prone Bear, who owns a coin-operated laundromat where he also lives, and Chance, an unemployed paramedic living in her 1978 Volkswagen Beetle, who stumbles into his lonely world.

Theatre Odyssey is pleased to announce the winner and runner up of its inaugural One-Act Play Festival open to U.S. playwrights. "Tagged" by Tampa-based playwright Jim Moss took the top prize - named "Best Play" and awarded $1,000, while "Motherless Child" by Louisiana-based playwright Peggy Aultman was named "Runner-Up" and received $500. The two winners were chosen from four finalists that were granted full productions at Glenridge Performing Arts Center November 1-4, 2018. The finalists were reduced from 12 semi-finalists presented as readings to the public. Over 100 plays from over eighty playwrights in twenty-six states were submitted to the playwriting competition.

MCC Theater announced today the extension of the run of the encore production of the critically acclaimed, award-winning play School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play, written by 2017-2018 Tow Playwright-in-Residence, Jocelyn Bioh, and directed by Tony Winner Rebecca Taichman. The encore production opened at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) on October 22nd and was set to end performances on November 25th. Due to popular demand, the production will now play through December 9, 2018.
Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's Pay What You Want theatre company, has announced the final production of its ninth season, Vendetta Chrome by Sylvan Oswald, directed by Sara Lyons. There will be one preview performance on Friday, November 23, at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, November 24, at 8pm.
