Parisian charm is precious, incomparable. Even though the action of An American in Paris takes place in 1945 after World War II had taken its toll, it is still lively, colorful and full of breathtaking romantic excitement. Fans of the 1951 film with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron will not be disappointed because the choreography of the live musical by director Christopher Wheeldon is magnetic as are the leading players Garen Scribner as Jerry Mulligan and Sara Esty as Lise Dassin, both ballet dancers. If you love great dancing, that is reason enough to see An American in Paris currently at the Hollywood Pantages through April 9.

Joie de vivre is in short supply in AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, the acclaimed Broadway musical now launching its first national tour in Boston through November 6. Inspired by the beloved 1951 MGM movie musical starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, this Broadway iteration looks and feels monochromatic compared to its opulent Technicolor predecessor, but that is mostly by design. This adaptation brings the story's post World War II setting front and center, revealing a city and its inhabitants still shell shocked as they try to rebuild in the aftermath of the Nazi occupation.

The producers of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, the most awarded new musical of 2015 and winner of four Tony Awards, have announced the full cast for the upcoming national tour. As previously announced, Jerry Mulligan and Lise Dassin will be played by Garen Scribner and Sara Esty, who performed these leading roles on Broadway. 

?Connecticut Repertory Theatre will present Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility by adapted for the stage by Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan as the fourth show of its 2015-2016 season. The show is directed by Kristin Wold, a faculty member at UConn and member of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA.  Sense and Sensibility will be held in the Harriet S. The new dance musical spectacle TRIP OF LOVE, inspired by the biggest hit songs of the 1960s, just opened at Stage 42, formerly The Little Shubert Theater (422 West 42nd St). American pop culture is still pulsing with the psychedelic energy of the Sixties, an era of expression and revolution around the world. The music told the story then and it will again this fall as TRIP OF LOVE brings the decade to life with over 25 of the biggest hits of the '60s, including 'Blowin' In The Wind,' 'Born To Be Wild,' 'California Dreamin',' 'I Saw Her Standing There,' 'These Boots Are Made For Walkin',' 'White Rabbit,' 'You Don't Own Me' and many more.
