Utah Film Center announced today the feature films selected for the 14th annual Damn These Heels Film Festival. Damn These Heels will run July 14 - 16, 2017 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and is a celebration of independent, documentary, and foreign films from around the world that explore LGBTQ issues, ideas, and art.  Passes and tickets are now on sale on the Utah Film Center's website.

Running through May 6, the raucous, downhome comedy features a cast of Nashville favorites including Tonya Pewitt, Memory Strong-Smith, Natalie Royal Herb, Jonathan Hunter, Benny Jones, Linda Speir, Drew Dunlop and Natalie Lewis.

Veteran Nashville actress Linda Speir will make her Larry Keeton Theatre debut as the matriarch in Del Shores' Daddy's Dyin'…Who's Got the Will, the next production on the stage of the Donelson theater, running April 20-May 6.

Prolific screenwriter and playwright Del Shores is perhaps best known for his series of plays about growing up gay in the South. In the semi-autobiographical SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES, now playing at the Desert Rose Playhouse in an excellent production, he describes the clash between his identities as a devout Baptist and a gay child.

In May, Sordid Lives by Del Shores makes its San Francisco debut as New Conservatory Theatre Center presents the play that spawned the huge cult comedy phenomenon. Three generations of a dysfunctional small-town Texas family gather after their elderly matriarch dies during a tryst in a seedy motel room with her much younger, much married neighbor. Fireworks are set off and bizarre truths exposed as the town prepares for what could be an embarrassing funeral.
