New Conservatory Theatre Center Extends San Francisco Premiere of SORDID LIVES
New Conservatory Theatre Center has extended the San Francisco premiere of Sordid Lives by Del Shores and directed by Dennis Lickteig, due to the tremendous audience response to the cult comedy phenomenon finally making its San Francisco premiere.
Sordid Lives was scheduled to run through June 11, and will now play through June 24, 2017. Performance days for the extension are Thursday, June 15 - Sunday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20 - Saturday, June 24.
Tickets are for sale at $25-50 and available at nctcsf.org or by calling (415) 861-8972.
After a hugely successful and award-winning long run in Los Angeles in 1996, Sordid Lives became a cult film classic in 2000, written and directed by Shores, and starring Leslie Jordan and Olivia Newton-John. Later, Shores followed the success of the film with a television series on Logo. Sordid Lives marks the third collaboration between Del Shores and NCTC, after lauded productions of his plays Southern Baptist Sissies and Yellow.
The cast of Sordid Lives features Luke Brady, Scott Cox, Robin Gabrielli, Gary M. Giurbino, Michaela Greeley, Marie O'Donnell, Shannon Kase, Melissa O'Keefe, Cat Luedtke, Amy Meyers, and Nathan Tylutki.
The creative team of Sordid Lives includes scenic design by Kuo-Hao Lo, costume design by Wes Crain, lighting design by Maxx Kurzunski, sound design by Ryan Lee Short, prop design by Ting Na Wang and stage management by Toni Lynn Guidry.
New Conservatory Theatre Center has been San Francisco's premier LGBTQIA and allied performing arts institution and progressive arts education conservatory since 1981. NCTC is renowned for its diverse range of innovative, high-quality productions, touring productions and shows for young audiences; its foundational anti-bullying work with youth and educators through YouthAware; and its commitment to developing new plays to continue expanding the canon of queer and allied dramatic work.
