Dartmouth's Neukom Institute has announced the playwriting shortlist for the 2021 Neukom Institute Literary Arts Awards.

Now in its eighth year, Northern Stage’s New Works Now festival will feature three new works, January 16, 23 and 30, all performed live on Zoom. The Northern Stage Artistic team has curated three new works to be presented by professional actors and directors for one week, culminating in free staged readings live on Zoom.

Centenary Stage Company will offer live streaming options for the 2020 Women Playwrights Series events held November 4, 11 and 18. The live stream will be available in conjunction with the in-person performances and will be made available to patrons on the dates and times of the scheduled performances.

The Alliance For Jewish Theatre announces the performance lineup for its 2020 Annual Conference, being held online From Sunday, October 25th through Tuesday, October 27th.

Centenary Stage Company's rescheduled 2020 Women Playwrights Series launches on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30 PM with Drive by Deborah Yarchun. 

The popular Women Playwright Series is returning to Centenary Stage Company, with three exciting new plays by playwrights Deborah Yarchun, Nora Leahy, and Patricia Cotter. The three plays being presented this November were all originally scheduled for this past spring, as a part of last season's WPS, but were rescheduled due to the state shutdown caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director of Amphibian Stage, today announced that Hans & Sophie, a new play created by New York-based trio Sean Hudock, Illana Stein and Deborah Yarchun, will have its world premiere at the Fort Worth, TX theatre February 5 - March 1, 2020. Illana Stein, who helmed Amphibian's regional premiere of David Davalos' A Lost Leonardo, will direct.

The eighth annual NEXT ACT! New Play Summit, at Capital Repertory Theatre and Proctors, June 7-10, features readings of three full-length plays-Meridith Friedman's The Luckiest People, Rachel Lynett's Here Be Dragons and Deborah Yarchun's The Calm Before. The developmental workshop will also include the popular First 15; a Synopsis Clinic led by Dramatist Guild Member Aoise Stratford; two events featuring Young Playwrights; and, for the first time, a film screening.

The Babes With Blades Theatre Company's (BWBTC) 21st anniversary season concludes with the return of The Fighting Words Festival this June at Otherworld Theatre. The Fighting Words sprang from the very clear need to increase the canon of female fighting roles.

The Women in the Arts & Media Coalition will present the 2019 Collaboration Awards. which recognize women who successfully collaborate to create new and influential work, at the SVA Theater (333 West 23rd St, New York, NY 10011) on Saturday, March 30 at 6:30pm. The 2019 Collaboration Awards Gala, which is being held on International SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now), will be hosted by SAG Award-winning actor and producer Alysia Reiner (Fig on Orange is the New Black on Netflix).  

Two new plays have been added to The Blank Theatre's Living Room Series schedule. The Good Samaritan by Wendy McLeod, directed by Sylvia Cervantes Blush, will be presented on Monday, April 1, at 8pm and The Calm Before by Deborah Yarchun, directed by Warren Davis, will be presented on Monday, April 8, at 8pm. Performances are at The Blank's 2nd Stage Theatre, 6500 Santa Monica Boulevard (at Wilcox), in Hollywood, 90038.

The 2019 Collaboration Awards Gala, which is being held on International SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now), will be hosted by SAG Award-winning actor and producer Alysia Reiner (Fig on Orange is the New Black on Netflix). Awarded biennially, the Collaboration Awards encourage professional women in the arts and media from different disciplines to work collaboratively on the creation of new work. The award recognizes the best of these collaborations and goes to a winning project and its two creators. 2019 marks the sixth time the Collaboration Awards have been presented.

Babes With Blades Theatre Company's (BWBTC) 21st season continues with its biennial William Shakespeare production. In 2019, the Shakespeare production is Othello running April 11 - May 25, directed by Mignon McPherson Stewart with fight choreography by Samantha Kaufman.  

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2019 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 15th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year's finalists were selected from a record 659 submissions, a 15% increase from the previous record set in 2018.

Williams Street Repertory, McHenry County's only professional theatre company, is excited to announce it is now accepting submissions for its 2019 - 2020 Reading Series (formerly LAB Series) at Raue Center For The Arts.

Last night, the 2017-2018 class of Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellows presented excerpts of full length works at Playwrights Horizons at 7:00 PM. This presentation caps off a year spent working under the tutelage of Michael Korie (War Paint), Laurence O'Keefe (Heathers), Diana Son (Stop Kiss), and Sheri Wilner (Kingdom City).
