BroadwayWorld has just learned that three Broadway favorites are set to bring The Princess Bride to life onstage. A Disney Theatrical spokesperson has confirmed that that David Yazbek (Tootsie, The Band's Visit) will write the score, and Bob Martin (The Prom) and Rick Elice (The Cher Show) will co-write the book for the new musical.

The 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical THE BAND'S VISIT will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS is playing at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in Philadelphia from March 29 to April 21, 2019. 

Mischer Neurosciences Broadway at the Hobby Center announced the lineup of shows for its 2019-2020 Season today. With nine productions including one season option, the season includes a mixture of Blockbuster Tony Award-winners, acclaimed revivals, four market premieres and beloved all-time favorites.

On this day in 2015, Fish In the Dark, a new comedy by Seinfeld creator Larry David, celebrated its opening night on Broadway. 

Just last night, Atlantic presented their Annual Gala at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue). Tootsie is on its way to Broadway bringing a colorful cast of characters to life on stage. Tootsie will open on Broadway on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street) in the heart of Times Square. Broadway preview performances will begin on Friday, March 29, 2019.

Atlantic Theater Company announces a one-week extension for the US premiere production of The Mother by Florian Zeller, translated by Christopher Hampton, and directed by Trip Cullman. The production, which opens on Monday, March 11th, will now play through Saturday, April 13th, 2019 Off-Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).
