A deep dive into the workings of Broadway from Broadway's own, Cast of Mentors features choice excerpts from interviews with 50 theatrical luminaries, all from Davenport's own podcast.

On Monday, September 21st, Second Stage Theater's Virtual Benefit Celebration honored Trustee Angela Sun and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Tom Kitt for their extraordinary work, commitment to Second Stage and remarkable impact on American theater.

The boys are back together again! Netflix has dropped the new trailer for the film adaptation of 'The Boys in the Band,' based on the 1968 Tony Award-winning play of the same name. The film is directed by Joe Mantello and produced by Ryan Murphy. Original playwright Matt Crawley wrote the screenplay. It will be released on September 30.

Netflix has released the first look at the upcoming BOYS IN THE BAND adaptation. The 1968 play by Mart Crowley was revived on Broadway in 2018 for the 50th anniversary. 

The boys are back! Netflix announced today that Ryan Murphy's The Boys in the Band film will officially arrive on the streaming service on September 30.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS announced today that it has sent $5 million from its COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund to The Actors Fund, ensuring thousands who work in theater and the performing arts receive vital, lifesaving support during and after this devastating pandemic.

Wicked has just released a heartfelt new video saluting the frontline workers of the current health crisis, underscored by the show's currents stars, Lindsay Pearce and Ginna Claire Mason. The description reads: 'In honor of every person on the front lines, our WICKED community came together in song and in thanks. You have truly changed us all. For Good.'

A second group of Broadway producers have stepped up to match all new donations up to $1 million

Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of BC/EFA has launched a special online fundraising campaign to create an emergency assistance fund.

More than 20 Broadway producers are offering a $1 million challenge match to double the impact of donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund.

On the same day that Broadway went dark due to coronavirus concerns, the show went on for WICKED in Madison, Wisconsin. As the curtain rose, and before I was totally swept up in the experience of WICKED, I took a moment to wonder how it felt for the cast and crew to be performing when their Broadway relations were on a sudden hiatus, and how long would they continue their run? It turns out, not long. It was their final performance for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Phillips Center today joined Florida Theatrical Association and Broadway Across America to announce the full lineup of the FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando season. The 20/21 season launches with Academy Awarda?"winner Aaron Sorkin's adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prizea?"winning masterwork TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and includes Tony- and Grammy Awarda?"winner HADESTOWN. The expanded season sees the Orlando premieres of TOOTSIE, THE BAND'S VISIT, THE PROM and THE CHER SHOW, along with audience favorite CATS. The previously announced season add-on HAMILTON will run for four weeks and season option WICKED will play the Dr. Phillips Center for three weeks.

The Broadway blockbuster WICKED will welcome new cast members to the Gershwin Theatre this month. Beginning Tuesday, February 25, Lindsay Pearce will assume the role of Elphaba and Sam Gravitte will assume the role of Fiyero.

The Commercial Theater Institute (CTI) and Executive Director Tom Viertel have announced speakers for the upcoming Three-Day Intensive, taking place on Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8, 2020 in NYC.

WICKED, the Triangle's most popular musical, will return to DPAC September 30 a?" October 25, 2020 for the first time in five years. Information on how to purchase individual tickets will be announced at a later date. Tickets for groups will go on sale in January 2020.
