What truly impressed me about this show and Judy's demise were the layers involved in her downward spiral and elevating this play with the absolutely stunning musical numbers.
The Arvada Center is making a bold move with its current main-stage production. The regional premiere of END OF THE RAINBOW follows Judy Garland during a six week run in London six months before her tragic death. While it includes many of Judy's actual arrangements of some of her most loved songs, it isn't a musical. It is a play with music. This week, 'In Focus' host Eden Lane takes viewers behind the scenes for some of the early rehearsals to meet the creative team and the cast. Click below!

This was my first journey to Armadillo Acres and I find the community and its residents hard to aptly describe. Suffice it to say, Betsy Kelso and David Nehls wrote a campy musical melodrama with comedy broader than a double-wide, a plot lighter than an aluminum lawn chair, and stereotypes bolder than a flock of pink flamingos. To my admiration, Director/Choreographer, Courtney Oliver, Music Director, Renee Kemper and seven highly-talented performers, have managed to spin this rather flimsy material into solid, non-stop, over-the-top fun.
