CM Performing Arts Center Opens THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL Tonight

By: Sep. 14, 2013

South Park meets Desperate Housewives in this hysterical musical comedy - The Great American Trailer Park Musical!

Adultery, strippers, murderous ex-boyfriends, Costco and the Ice Capades. Undeniable fun! This big-hearted musical comedy with a cheeky script by Betsy Kelso, an infectious score by David Nehls and a richly talented cast sparkles with treasure. Joyful and unashamedly raunchy, this comic fable about women in a Florida trailer park and their no-account men is more fun than a chair-throwing episode of Jerry Springer set to music. When a stripper named Pippi moves into Armadillo Acres, on the run from a permanent-marker-sniffing loon named Duke, she gets sympathy from the park's ruling clique, Betty, Linoleum, and Pickles- until she steals some body's husband. The rousing songs include the ballad "I Gotta Make Like a Nail (and Press On)," which has the wattage of the disco hit "I Will Survive." An undeniably entertaining hullabaloo filled with white-cracker stereotypes for folks hankering for a rowdy good time.
