Rover Dramawerks will present the hilariously quirky comedy Wonder of the World by David Lindsay-Abaire at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano. Performances are May 23 through June 15, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m.

Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced that Emmy and Tony award winner Blythe Danner and Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker will return to MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street) in the world premiere of THE COMMONS OF PENSACOLA, a new play by Amanda Peet, directed by MTC's award-winning artistic director Lynne Meadow. The limited engagement will begin previews Tuesday, October 22 and open Thursday, November 21.

The Kleban Foundation has announced that the 23rd annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has gone to Daniel Mate and the 23rd annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has gone to Alan Gordon. The 2013 prizes will be presented on June 24, 2013, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

David Lindsay-Abaire's quirky coming-of-age tragicomedy KIMBERLY AKIMBO is closing Country Playhouse's 2012-2013 Black Box Season. The 2000 play is an incredibly gripping and compelling tale about a young woman suffering from Progeria, a disease that causes people to age exponentially faster than they are supposed to. Kimberly is approaching her 16th birthday, which a joyous milestone for most teenagers. But 16 is the average life expectancy for those with Progeria. To top it all off, Kimberly's family is a struggling, lower-middle class family with their own set of dark secrets and problems.
