Huntington Theatre Nominated for 35 IRNE Awards for 2012 Productions

Huntington Theatre Company has received 35 IRNE Award nominations from the Independent Reviewers of New England, the most of any small or large theatre company in the region. The Committee recognized six of the eight productions the Huntington produced in 2012 with the following nominations.

Cleveland Play House Opens GOOD PEOPLE, 3/22

Cleveland Play House will produce the hit Broadway comedy Good People, written by one of the most important new American playwrights. Nominated for a 2011 Tony Award for Best Play, Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People takes an affectionate look at the 'haves' and 'have-nots' through the eyes of characters who won't be ignored. Actress Kate Hodge returns to the CPH stage (Dinner with Friends, Bright Ideas) to play the tough-talking, blue-collar Margie Walsh, a role that won Frances McDormand a 2011 Tony Award for Best Actress. Also returning to the CPH stage to play Dottie, Margie's landlord, is actress Denny Dillon (Well), a Cleveland native and former CPH Curtain Puller. Directed by Laura Kepley, CPH Associate Artistic Director,Good People will run in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare starting Friday, March 22 through Sunday, April 14, 2013. The El Capitan Theatre Screens OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, 3/7-4/30

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre will present Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful" in spectacular Disney Digital 3D and Dolby Atmos, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Special Events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

As one of the twenty largest professional regional theatres in the U.S., Children's Theatre Company is the national leader in creating work for young audiences, ages two through eighteen. The 2013-2014 Season will be among the most innovative with three world premieres, two extraordinary guest companies, a new preschool piece and a Broadway musical. The season will also include a beloved classic never before seen at CTC and a Philip Pullman masterpiece brought to the stage for the first time. The Wong Kids in The Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go! by Lloyd Suh is CTC's first ever sci-fi anime inspired production. This world premiere will be co-produced with the Ma- Yi Theater Company and run at CTC before playing in New York.

Performance Network Theatre Extends Pay-What-You-Can Thursdays for GOOD PEOPLE

Performance Network Theatre extends the Pay-What-You-Can Thursday discount to all Thursday performances during the entire run of Good People. Ten Pay-What-You-Can tickets will be made available the day of the show for each Thursday performance and will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis now through March 31st, 2013. Tony Nominee for Best Play in 2011, Good People is a story of a mother's reality in the 21st century in the "Southie" District of Boston. To claim Pay-What-You-Can Thursday tickets, please call the box office the day of the show at 734-663-0681 - the box office opens at 10am on Thursdays. Limit two tickets per person.

Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with a Sunday matinee on April 21 at 2:00 p.m., plus a weeknight show on Thursday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m.
