Columbus Children's Theatre to Present SHREK THE MUSICAL, 9/19-29

Columbus Children's Theatre will present the musical Shrek The Musical, with Music by Jeanine Tesori, Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig September 19 - 29, 2013 at The Lincoln Theatre located at 769 East Long Street Columbus 43203. This production, directed by William Goldsmith with music direction by Jeff Hamm, is recommended for ages 5 and up.

Good fortune is a scarce commodity in the comic drama Good People, presented by Deep Dish Theater Company August 23 to September 14. The play, by Pulitzer winner David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Deep Dish Resident Director Tony Lea, kicks off the company's thirteenth season at University Mall. In its glorious, colorful presentation of the first Southern California regional production of SHREK - THE MUSICAL, 3-D Theatricals---fast becoming Orange County's home for Broadway-caliber shows---certainly has plenty to celebrate in its latest offering. The family-friendly musical comedy continues its limited engagement at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton through August 4 then transfers north to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center for a weekend of shows August 9-11.

Marin Theatre Company to Open 2013-14 Season with David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE, 8/22-9/15

Marin Theatre Company opens its 2013-14 Season with the Bay Area premiere of the national and Broadway hit play Good People by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. Running for a limited time from August 22 to September 15, this 'poignant, brave and subversive' (New York Post) new play will be directed by Tracy Young, an Oregon Shakespeare Festival regular, and feature a local cast that includes Bay Area and Sacramento veterans Amy Resnick, Mark Anderson Phillips, Anne Darragh and Jamie Jones. Opening night is Tuesday, August 27. Based in Mill Valley, MTC is a 47-year old professional nonprofit theater that is a destination for exhilarating performances, inspired new American plays and powerful theatrical experiences.
