Today's top stories: Oscar nominations, Jagged Little Pill cast celebrates its Grammy win, and more!

Stars in the House, which officially kicked off on March 16, 2020 is a daily series that features stars of stage and screen singing or performing plays live (from home!) to promote support for charitable services for those most vulnerable to the effects of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that it will inaugurate PRIVATE REELS: FROM THE LCT ARCHIVES, streamed recordings of outstanding LCT productions in their entirety, as part of its LCT Spotlight Series. PRIVATE REELS: FROM THE LCT ARCHIVES will kick off on Thursday, March 18 with Christopher Durang’s VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE.

This Thursday evening, Tony & Emmy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will join the nonprofit organization Black Broadway Men for an exclusive and thrilling conversation discussing his inspirations, trials, triumphs and his deep philanthropic call to the culture using his art and talent.

On March 16, 2020, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley launched “Stars In The House” in response to what they knew would be an immediate need for funds in light of the Broadway shutdown.  Now, one year and over 375 episodes later, “Stars In The House” has raised over $715,000 for The Actors Fund & an additional $200,000 for other charity organizations.

There are a lot of bad movies out there, ranging from moderately bad to absolutely horrendous. I want to look at some “so-bad-it’s-good” films that I believe would make hilarious musical parodies.

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 6:30pm ET, Orchestra of St. Luke's presents Sounds & Stories: Anna Clyne and Jyll Bradley, a live streamed performance that features two world premieres by composer Anna Clyne – Strange Loops for Clarinet Quintet and Woman Holding a Balance for String Quartet with a film by artists Jyll Bradley and David Ward.

Andy Einhorn's tribute to his dear friend Jerry Herman YOU I LIKE: A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF JERRY HERMAN virtually opened January 10, 2021. Safely filmed on the Pasadena Playhouse stage, familiar Jerry Herman classics (and not-so-familiar, undiscovered gems) will be wondrously performed by the uber-talented vocalists Ashley Blanchet, Nicholas Christopher, Lesli Margherita, Andrea Ross, Ryan Vona, and Andy himself.

HBO Max has given an eight-episode first season order to the Max Original, JULIA, based on the life of world-renowned chef Julia Child.

The pandemic halted audiences from being able to experience live theatre in-person, but Cinevative worked alongside Pasadena Playhouse to capture new works on-stage for the Playhouse's new digital platform, PlayhouseLive, including the brand new, 90-minute tribute, 'You I Like: A Musical Celebration of Jerry Herman' set to premiere January 10th.

Opening night of YOU I LIKE: A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF JERRY HERMAN will livestream at www.PasadenaLive.org January 10, 2021; with video-on-demand streaming through February 7, 2021. Conceived by music director Andy Einhorn, this virtual homage to the genius of Jerry Herman will be the first tribute to him since his passing last year. Safely filmed on the Pasadena Playhouse stage, familiar Jerry Herman classics will be performed by the talented vocalists Ashley Blanchet, Nicholas Christopher, Lesli Margherita, Andrea Ross and Ryan Vona.
