A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN to Launch on BroadwayHD

 BroadwayHD, the premier streaming service for live theater, is set to release the electrifying musical A Night with Janis Joplin to its platform on January 19th.   Starring Mary Bridget Davies, Broadway's original 'Janis' in her Tony Award® nominated performance, the show was filmed live during one of its final performances on October 4, 2018 at La Mirada Theatre for The Performing Arts in Los Angeles. The release of BroadwayHD's groundbreaking live-capture of the show will coincide with the anniversary of the rock icon's birthday, while ushering in the 50th anniversary celebration of Woodstock and her famed performance at the legendary concert.

PBS to Present 'k.d. lang - Landmarks Live in Concert'

Iconic singer-songwriter k.d. lang performs a 25th anniversary concert celebrating her critically acclaimed 1992 album 'Ingenue' from the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, Texas, in k.d. lang - Landmarks Live in Concert - A Great Performances Special, premiering nationwide Friday, December 14 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings).

THIRTEEN's 'Theater Close-Up' to Present Steven Levenson's IF I FORGET

Theater Close-Up - the unique collaboration between THIRTEEN and the large community of New York City area Off-Broadway and regional theaters - presents If I Forget, a personal and political play about history, responsibility and compromise from Tony Award-winning playwright Steven Levenson (Dear Evan Hansen, Roundabout's The Language of Trees) premiering Monday, December 3 at 10 p.m. on THIRTEEN.

PBS to Premiere JOHN LEGUIZAMO'S ROAD TO BROADWAY This Friday

John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway follows the always provocative Leguizamo as he prepares for his most challenging theatrical quest yet - cramming 3,000 years of Latino history into 90 minutes of stage time for his one man show. With extraordinary access to his creative process, the film traces the evolution of his latest success, Tony-nominated play Latin History for Morons, from its challenging premise through its triumphant debut. A special co-presentation of Great Performances and Latino Public Broadcasting's VOCES, John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway, directed by Ben DeJesus, premieres nationwide Friday, November 16 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). The fascinating history behind Shakespeare's greatest plays continues with a third series of Shakespeare Uncovered, premiering Fridays, October 12-26 on PBS (check local listings) and streaming the following day at pbs.org/shakespeareuncovered and on PBS apps. The ambitious series concludes with celebrated new hosts Helen Hunt, F. BroadwayHD Wins Streaming Rights To A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN

BroadwayHD today announced that it will capture the electrifying musical A Night with Janis Joplin live during one of its final performances on October 4 at La Mirada Theatre for The Performing Arts in Los Angeles. The company's groundbreaking live-capture of the performance will coincide with the anniversary of the rock icon's untimely death 48 years ago and debut in January 2019 to usher in the 50th anniversary celebration for Woodstock and her epic performance at the legendary concert. A Night with Janis Joplin stars Mary Bridget Davies, Broadway's original 'Janis' in her Tony Award nominated performance.

Great Performances presents more of the Great White Way's brightest stars with a new "Broadway's Best" lineup premiering Fridays, November 2-23 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Returning for a second year, this fall's lineup includes the beloved musicals "An American in Paris The Musical" and Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," as well as documentaries about the making of John Leguizamo's Tony-nominated play "Latin History for Morons" and 21-time Tony-winning director and producer Harold Prince.
