THIRTEEN's NYC-ARTS Offers Encores of Greatest Hits in March

NYC-ARTS, THIRTEEN's weekly arts and culture multi-platform showcase, brings arts lovers an all-access pass to the interesting, unusual and unique cultural offerings of the greater New York City region. This month the series revisits some of its compelling profiles of the people and institutions that make up the arts community in our region.

PBS Great Performances Returns 3/25 with Thomas Adès' THE EXTERMINATING ANGEL

Season 12 of Great Performances at the Met continues on PBS on Sunday, March 25, at 12:00pm with the American premiere of Thomas Adès's The Exterminating Angel, a surreal fantasy about a dinner party from which the guests can't escape. The Exterminating Angel was inspired by the classic Luis Buñuel film of the same name, and stars John Tomlinson and Alice Coote. Mezzo-soprano Susan Graham is the host.

Broadcast and streamed for the first time, AARP The Magazine's 17th Annual Movies for Grownups® Awards celebrates 2017's standout films with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind and recognizes the inspiring artists who make them. Co-produced by THIRTEEN's Great Performances series, Movies for Grownups Awards with AARP the Magazine premieres nationwide Friday, February 23 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings), pbs.org/gperf and PBS apps.

National Youth Theater Presents Roald Dahl's WILLY WONKA JR.

National Youth Theater (NYT) will perform the live musical production of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR., March 23rd - 25th, at the Lone Star College-Tomball Performing Arts Center, 30555 Tomball Parkway, Tomball, TX 77375.

Great Performances At The Met Kicks Off 2018 With Bellini's NORMA

Season 12 of Great Performances at the Met begins with a new production of Bellini's masterpiece about a woman scorned, conducted by Carlo Rizzi. Norma stars Sondra Radvanovsky as the titular druid high priestess, opposite Joyce DiDonato as Norma's new rival and Joseph Calleja as her unfaithful lover a casting dream for bel canto fans.

Uncensored Director's Cut of INDECENT Will be Available on BroadwayHD Late January

When Indecent aired on PBS's Great Performances it was missing some of the elements that helped it earn the 2017 Tony Award for Best Direction. Ironically, a play with a deep history of censorship, one that was put on trial for obscenity, was once again too provocative to be seen as intended. Now, for the first time ever outside of the Cort Theatre, it can be seen completely uncensored when it comes to BroadwayHD.

Tony Winner Helen Mirren to Receive AARP's Career Achievement Honor

AARP The Magazine announced today that Helen Mirren will receive the 2017 Movies for Grownups Career Achievement Award. The AARP Movies for Grownups multimedia franchise was established in 2002 to celebrate and encourage filmmaking with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind and recognize the inspiring artists who make them.

Broadway's INDECENT Arrives on PBS Tonight

The Tony Award-winning play Indecent comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances, tonight, November 17, at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) as part of the fall Broadway's best lineup.
