It is one of 16 selections for the theatre’s online inaugural Voices of Truth Theatre Festival, running through March 28, 2021.

Utah Film Center To Present AFTER PARKLAND With Panel Discussion On February 12

Utah Film Center announced today its participation in the nation-wide release of After Parkland on Wednesday, February 12 at 7:00 PM at The City Library.  The free screening followed by a panel discussion coincides with the nearly two year anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Following the film, representatives from Utah Moms Demand Action, March For Our Lives Utah, and the Gun Violence Prevention Center of Utah invite audiences to participate in a crucial discussion exploring all sides of the gun sense debate, the future of school safety, and mass shooting prevention happening right here in Utah.  

Woodstock Film Festival Announces 20th Anniversary Audience & Maverick Award Recipients

The 20th Anniversary Woodstock Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday with the Closing Night film Marriage Story, directed by Noah Baumbach. Audience ballots from more than 100 films were counted late Sunday night to determine the winners of the Audience Awards. Over the past week, thousands of film goers, industry and filmmakers from around the world attended screenings, panels, and special events in Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Rosendale, Kingston and Saugerties.

The Woodstock Film Festival is thrilled to announce the world premiere screening of PARKLAND RISING, executive produced by Katie Couric and will.i.am, at the upcoming 20th anniversary film festival, taking place October 2-6, 2019. This timely and vital documentary, directed by two-time Emmy Award winner Cheryl Horner McDonough, follows the high-school students and families who became fierce leaders of the national movement for gun reform after the February 2018 shooting of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, Florida.

More than 100 celebrities, activists, artists, policy experts and survivors of gun violence today launched the #NoRA (No Rifle Association), a new collective action campaign to highlight and combat the National Rifle Association's (NRA) deadly influence over the American political system. The alliance is committed to moving culture into a less violent place by counteracting the influence of NRA money in our communities.

Pop Singer Ian Erix Releasing Benefit Song with Parkland, FL School Shooting Survivors

Misfit Mindz Entertainment, an imprint of Nordican Music Group/The Orchard/Sony Music Entertainment is set to release a benefit record from Ian Erix -- featuring survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting -- with 100% of all profits going to victim's families and survivors of gun violence in addition to non-profits that support social justice movements, such as the student formed March For Our Lives and #NeverAgainMSD organizations.  The recording, 'Raise Some Hell', pays homage to the recent lives lost, but is not a sad or sappy song. It is, instead, an up-tempo and empowering battle anthem calling the youth to hold truth to power and rise up against injustice anywhere they see it.
