Initial Line Up Announced For 2019 San Francisco Comedy Festival, Tickets On Sale This Sunday

SF Sketchfest presented by Audible announces the initial line up for the 18th annual San Francisco Comedy Festival January 10-27, 2019, featuring top comedic talent performing in venues across the city. Audiences can expect another outstanding year of programming and fun as SF Sketchfest will host major comedy stars and the best up-and-coming acts from around the world for non-stop entertainment including sketch, stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, films, tributes, live podcasts, storytelling, family shows, workshops, panels and more.

DISENCHANTMENT Renewed for Season Two

'Disenchantment' has been renewed for a second season by Netflix, according to a video Netflix shared on Twitter. Watch the video below!

The Official Trailer for Disenchantment kicked off the panel for the highly anticipated new series from Matt Groening at San Diego Comic Con 2018 on Saturday, July 21st at 5:30 PM PT. The trailer features a medieval inspired re-recording of David Bowie's hit song“Rebel Rebel.” Allie Goertz (MAD Magazine / Everything's Coming Up Simpsons podcast) moderated the panel discussion that followed with creator Matt Groening, showrunner Josh Weinstein and cast Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, and David Herman along with Claudia Katz from Rough Draft animation studio.

From the mind of Matt Groening, comes the 10-episode adult animated comedy fantasy series, Disenchantment, launching on Netflix, August 17, 2018. In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

Manoa Valley Theatre's Season Takes Off in THE FULL MONTY

Manoa Valley Theatre kicks off its 49th season with a rip-roaring musical comedy in "The Full Monty" September 7 - 24, 2017. While spying on their wives at a 'Girls' Night Out,' a group of unemployed steelworkers see how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work, and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold way to make some quick cash by doing their own show. Claiming it will be better, though, because they'll go the "full monty"-strip all the way, these six loveable misfits attempt to conquer their fears, self-consciousness, and prejudices in this heartwarming, upbeat comedy. You'll be wondering, right to the end, if this motley male troupe of amateur strippers will really pull it off!

The Young Company at Stoneham Theatre presents Shakespeare's MACBETH

Co-directed by IRNE Award Winner Sarah Gazdowicz and Laura Baronet, the young company at Stoneham Theatre presents William Shakespeare's Macbeth on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11AM as part of the Spring Shakespeare program. Journey to Scotland and explore the psychological effects of prophecies and political power. Macbeth discovers that he is fated to be King. This fate, however, proves to be more of a curse than a blessing as murder, political uprisings, and mayhem ensue. Provoked by his wife and preoccupied with greed, Macbeth begins a tragic descent into madness.

The groom is Catholic. Her mother is a force of nature, his mother is a tempest in a cocktail shaker. When the bride's ex-boyfriend shows up, the perfect wedding starts to unravel faster than you can whistle, "Here Comes the Bride!" Plots are hatched, pacts are made, secrets exposed-and the sister of the bride is left to turn a tangled mess into happily ever after!

Comedy Central Sets 2014 Comic-Con Fan Events

Comedy Central is invading San Diego with a series of events during Comic-Con starting with back-to-back panels as Comedy Central Presents 'Key & Peele' and Introduces 'Moonbeam City' on Thursday, July 24 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront. The panels kick off with Emmy(R)-nominated series 'Key & Peele' (stars Keegan-Michael-Key, Jordan Peele, Director Peter Atencio and moderated by Thomas Lennon) followed by the panel for upcoming animated series 'Moonbeam City' (creator and Executive Producer Scott Gairdner and Executive Producer Tommy Blacha). Also, press interviews will be held in Indigo 204A on Thursday, July 24 with 'Key & Peele' (Key, Peele, Atencio) from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The next day will feature a 'Brickleberry' panel with series creators and Executive Producers, Waco O'Guin and Roger Black, joined by David Herman ('Futurama'), Tom Kenny ('SpongeBob SquarePant'), Jerry Minor ('Eastbound & Down') and Natasha Leggero ('Suburgatory,' 'Burning Love') and held on Friday, July 25 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Convention Center Room 24ABC.

Park Square's THE SCHOOL FOR LIES to Begin Performances 1/10

Park Square cracks the ice of winter with a wickedly funny satire inspired by Moliere's The Misanthrope. The School for Lies by David Ives (whose Venus in Fur was nominated for a Tony Award in 2012) storms the stage in a production led by Amy Rummenie, Artistic Director of Walking Shadow Theatre Company, in her Park Square directing debut.

Comedy Central's FUTURAMA, WORKAHOLICS & More Set for Comic-Con 2013

COMEDY CENTRAL will descend upon San Diego Comic-Con with a multitude of awesome events. The schedule includes panels from “Workaholics” on Thursday, July 18 from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Ubisoft's “South Park: The Stick of Truth” videogame on Thursday, July 18 from 6:00-7:00 p.m., “Brickleberry” on Friday, July 19 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and “Futurama” on Saturday, July 20 from 12:00-12:45 p.m. On Thursday, July 18 “Workaholics” will be holding press interviews from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Bayfront in Indigo 202A and an autograph signing from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Convention Center at the Sails Pavilion at table AA04.
