Manoa Valley Theatre's Season Takes Off in THE FULL MONTY

Manoa VAlley Theatre kicks off its 49th season with a rip-roaring musical comedy in "The Full Monty" September 7 - 24, 2017. While spying on their wives at a 'Girls' Night Out,' a group of unemployed steelworkers see how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work, and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold way to make some quick cash by doing their own show. Claiming it will be better, though, because they'll go the "full monty"-strip all the way, these six loveable misfits attempt to conquer their fears, self-consciousness, and prejudices in this heartwarming, upbeat comedy. You'll be wondering, right to the end, if this motley male troupe of amateur strippers will really pull it off!

Guest director of the production is Paul Mitri. Assistants to the director are Polly Miao and Tevin Reiger. Musical Director is Jenny Shiroma. Choreographer is Mareva Minerbi. Set design is by Michelle Bisbee. Sound design is by Chad McComas. Lighting design is by Janine Myers. Costume design is by James Correy. Props design is by Sara Ward. Hair and make-up design is by Lisa Ponce de Leon. Performing in the show are Wayne Blackburn, Aiko Chinen, Christopher Denton, Hulita Drake, Jennifer Fachan, Suzanne Green, David Herman, David A. Heulitt, Timothy Jeffryes, Tyler Kanemori, Jason Pepper Lamb, Dylan Chace Lee, Nicholas Lockwood, Dyron Mack, Rebecca Lea McCarthy, Kela Neil, Byron Ono, Marcelo Palacios, Michelle Pitel, Jacob Rios, Jennifer Sojot, Joanie Lish, and Christine Palafu Sou.

The production will run September 7 - 24. Show times are Thur. 7:30 p.m., Fri. 8 p.m., Sat. 8 p.m., and Sun. 4 p.m. Tickets are $40. Seniors and military are admitted for $35, youth 25 years old and younger are $22. Minimum age is 16. Call 988-6131 or purchase tickets online at manoavalleytheatre.com. Tickets are also available at all military ticket outlets. The play is performed in two acts with one intermission. Approximate running time is approximately 2 hrs 30 min.
