Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Kicks Off 45th Anniversary Season Tonight

Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han have announced plans for The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's 45th anniversary season. The 2014-2015 Season offers an extraordinarily vibrant palette of diverse and innovative programming performed by a vast and impressive roster comprised of 109 of the world's finest chamber music artists. The season begins tonight, October 15, 2014, and runs through May 15, 2015. Performances take place in Alice Tully Hall, the Rose Studio, and the Kaplan Penthouse.

Broadway's Steven Lutvak, Jeanine Tesori, Davd Yazbeck and More Set for Library of Congress's 2014-15 Concert Season

The 2014-2015 season of 'Concerts from the Library of Congress' brings a stellar roster of performers, ensembles and scholars from around the world in commemoration of the 150th birthday of founding patron Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge. The concerts are complemented by guest speakers, curators, panels, film screenings and displays of rarely seen manuscripts, letters and memorabilia from the Library's holdings. Concerts kick off Saturday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. with a performance by gospel and soul music legend Mavis Staples.

The journeys organized by Travel Dynamics combine first-class accommodations and stimulating sight-seeing with intimate chamber music performances in extraordinary locations. As co-Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society, along with my wife, the pianist Wu Han, we program the concerts and select additional musicians from the Society's artist roster to join us as collaborators. The passengers include music lovers who join the cruises through two of our prominent chamber music institutions New York's Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and Silicon Valley's Music@Menlo. Joining us on this adventure were Suzanne Davidson and Edward Sweeney, the executive directors of each organization respectively, as well as violinists Kristin Lee and Arnaud Sussmann, two of the most exciting young performers on the classical music scene today.

Chamber Trio David Finckel, Wu Han, and Phil Setzer Perform at Meany Hall Tonight

Violinist Philip Setzer joins David Finckel and Wu Han, co-artistic directors of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, to form a dynamic chamber music trio. Finckel and Han, Musical America's 2012 Musicians of the Year, and Setzer rank among the most esteemed and influential classical musicians in the world today. Setzer is a current and founding member of the Emerson String Quartet and performed with Finckel for 34 years in that ensemble.

All-French Program Highlights Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's 'French Revelationa' at Harris Theater, March 18

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) 2013-2014 Michael Hill series continues at the Harris Theater with French Revelations, Tuesday, March 18 at 7:30PM. Critically acclaimed and award-winning society members Nicholas Canellakis (cello), Bridget Kibbey (harp), Sooyun Kim (flute), Kristin Lee (violin), Anne-Marie McDermott (piano), and Paul Neubauer (viola) perform seminal works of French virtuosos Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Albert Roussel, Jean Francaix, Joseph Jongen, and Marcel Tournier. This diverse, all-French program includes Ravel's Jeux d'eau, a serene work for solo piano that takes inspiration from the cascading sounds of water, as well as two works from Debussy: Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp and Sonata for Cello and Piano-known famously as two of the last three pieces the composer completed before his untimely death in 1918.

Don Rebic and Christine Reisner-Rebic to Premiere LOOK WHO'S IN LOVE at Beechman, 2/19

On the heels of their one-year wedding anniversary, distinguished entertainers Christine Reisner-Rebic (an international cabaret chanteuse and dancer) and Don Rebic (Broadway and cabaret musical director and composer) will join forces for the New York City debut of their first full-length cabaret act as a duo. 'Look Who's in Love' features their original songs as well as songs by veteran Broadway composer Albert Hague (Christine's uncle) and timeless jazzy standards by Irving Berlin, Jule Styne, Jimmy Van Heusen, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. The show is directed by Michael Bush. The performance is set for Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street (at 9th Avenue), NYC. Danish String Quartet Adds 2/10 Performance at Chamber Music Society's Rose Studio

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced that, due to overwhelming demand The Danish String Quartet, a CMS Two Artist Member, has added an encore performance of Beethoven Reflected on Monday, February 10th at 7:30 PM at the Chamber Music Society's Rose Studio (Rose Building, 165 West 65th Street, 10th Floor). This is in addition to the originally scheduled performance on February 9th at 5:00 p.m. at Alice Tully Hall (Broadway at 65th Street).
