The Harris Theater for Music and Dance announced today the exciting performances that will celebrate its first decade. The Theater's inaugural performance was held on November 8, 2003. Today, nearly 10 years later, the Harris will reflect on its past, present, and future with the 2013-2014 Harris Theater Presents series. The season is comprised of important premieres and debuts, along with returning favorites. The Theater's more than 35 diverse resident companies will also shine in the spotlight with a dazzling array of performances throughout the entire season.
The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel welcomes back hitmaker and beloved crooner Steve Tyrell to the Cafe Carlyle for an engagement that celebrates legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn. It's Magic: The Songs of Sammy Cahn will feature songs from Mr. Tyrell's new album of the same name which will be released on May 14th. The program pays tribute to the incredible work of Sammy Cahn, whose songs are firmly embedded in the Great American Songbook and during the early 60s defined a generation, giving life to the Rat Pack's repertoire. Morgan James makes her Jazz at Lincoln Center debut at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola with an After Hours set from December 13-17. Performance times are Tue-Wed-Thurs at 11:00pm; and Fri and Sat at 12:45am.
