Lone Star Theatre Co's 2016-17 Season to Feature New Works by Raquel Almazan, Nilsa Reyna & More

Lone Star Theatre Co is proud to announce their upcoming 2016-2017 season, "Cinco de Lone Star." The season, which marks the fifth year that Lone Star Theatre has been bringing Texas pages to New York stages, will focus a great deal of its programming on Latino voices. The season features new works by Raquel Almazan, Oscar Cabrera, Mandy Murphy, Nilsa Reyna and more.

On Saturday, April 30, 2016, N'Kenge, vocal siren and Broadway Diva, is one of the premiere vocalists interpreting lyrics by Josh Kight, an emerging musical theatre composer, at the famous Feinstein's 54 Below (254 W. 54th Street (cellar); 11:30pm (doors @ 11:00pm)) in New York City.

When a diverse group of women are randomly thrown together, they quickly realize that their cultural training has put them directly in opposition to each other, whether as workhorses, show-ponies or race-horses. Will they figure out how to get past their assigned roles and see each other as people?

Eddy Cavazos will step into the role of Manuel in the workshop of de la Puente and Davila's award-winning musicalMANUEL VERSUS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY when the curtain goes up tomorrow night at Princeton University. Cavazos, who had previously worked with Davila on ADAN Y JULIO, steps into the role as a last minute replacement for Gil Perez-Abraham whose film schedule made him unavailable at the final hour.

Lone Star Theatre Company Launches Robert Askins Playwright Fellowship

Lone Star Theatre Company is proud to announce the creation of the Robert Askins Playwright Fellowship. The Robert Askins Playwright Fellowship is a program created by award-winning playwright Robert Askins and Artistic Director David Davila, to give Texas playwrights living in New York City a home base to develop their new work. Each playwright will receive creative support from Lone Star Theatre Company through a tiered level of staged readings and developmental workshops in New York City, and will receive professional guidance from Askins and the Lone Star Theatre Co staff.
