The current touring production of THE BAND'S VISIT has blown into Dallas, bringing the much-needed refreshing relief of a secluded oasis along with it.

Steppenwolf's production of ensemble member Tracy Letts's BUG is positively skin crawling, with magnificent central performances from Carrie Coon and Namir Smallwood that make the play all the more unnerving. While Letts's 1996 play may have seemed far-fetched and ahead of its time when it debuted in the nascent days of the internet, it reads eerily prescient now. BUG's dual exploration of paranoid schizophrenia and government surveillance becomes even more unsettling in the current digital era.

After a mix-up at the border, an Egyptian Police Band is sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways. THE BAND'S VISIT celebrates the deeply human ways music, longing and laughter can connect us all.

This Brooklyn native, Will Hochman is currently co-starring in one of the biggest plays on Broadway alongside Mary Louise Parker. Time Magazine says his performance in The Sound Inside is one of the top 10 theatre performances of 2019.

Hochman makes his Bradoway debut opposite Mary-Louise Parker in Adam Rapp's thought provoking play about writing and longing.

Performed without an intermission, it features Arabian-flavored musical numbers and a mostly upbeat plot. It premiered on Broadway in 2017 and is one of only four musicals to win the 'Big Six' Tony Awards, which include Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical.

Producers announced today the launch of THE SOUND INSIDE WRITER'S CHALLENGE. At the heart of THE SOUND INSIDE is a celebration of the passion, dedication, and drive of writers to better their craft. Entrants are invited to enter THE SOUND INSIDE WRITER'S CHALLENGE by submitting a fictional short story or play of 2000 words or less. Five entries will be selected to be read and edited by THE SOUND INSIDE playwright Adam Rapp and then published on The Sound Inside's social media accounts. Each winner will also receive two tickets to see THE SOUND INSIDE.
