It takes a village to recreate the giant world of War and Peace in a supper club-style Broadway theatre. The Bushwick Starr is thrilled to present the world premiere of The Art of Luv (Part 5): Swipe Right / ROKE Cupid, created and performed by Royal Osiris Karaoke Ensemble ('ROKE').   The Art of Luv (Part 5): Swipe Right / ROKE Cupid is a cycle of sacred love songs for the era of Internet Romance, a meditation on selfhood and intimacy in a mediated society. Three officiants perform an elaborate courtship ritual inside a kaleidoscopic video tent. The ritual is accompanied by live music and text taken from online dating profiles, internet scams, how-to dating guides, and the works of ecstatic poets. In Swipe Right / ROKE Cupid, ROKE attempts to imbue our modern search for love with a forgotten spiritual resonance.  

The Public Theater continued its 2017 Spring Public Forum with a four-night FESTIVAL OF SONGWRITING over the weekend at Joe's Pub with Public Forum Director Michael Friedman, exploring the exciting work of composers and musicians - what it is that they do when they write a song and how they make their own particular brand of magic. The new Broadway musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 and Reprise Records will release an original Broadway cast recording, featuring Josh Groban as 'Pierre' and Denee Benton as 'Natasha', May 19, 2017.

SPACE on Ryder Farm, the non-profit artist residency program located on Ryder Farm, an idyllic 200 year-old working organic farm in Brewster, New York announced its 2017 season for The Working Farm, Family Residency, Creative Solutions Symposium and Artistic Residency programs at The Players Club. NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, nominated for 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical, announced today that a new block of tickets is now on sale through January 8, 2018.
