New York Theatre Workshop Names 2015-16 Season's 2050 Fellows

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced the playwrights and directors selected for the 2015/16 season 2050 Fellowship. The playwrights are Nathan Alan Davis, Hansol Jung and Patricia Ione Lloyd and the directors are Noelle Ghoussaini, Alexandru Mihail and Danya Taymor.

Shrunken Shakespeare Company presented the world premiere reading of Chukwudi Iwuji's masterpiece screenplay IRA on June 8th, 2015. The reading was the centerpiece of the SSC 2015 Spring Gala and was directed by Danya Taymor. The Creative Producer was Adam Shulman (Dukes of Hazard: The Beginning, Song One starring Anne Hathaway), host of SSC's Annual Benefit Gala and Staged Reading of at W83 (150 West 83rd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus). Shrunken Shakespeare Company (Yvonne Cone and Jennifer Martina, Co-Producing Artistic Directors) announced today that Madeline Brewer has joined the cast as Meg, in the world premiere reading of Chukwudi Iwuji's masterpiece screenplay Ira - on June 8th, 2015. Brewer joins new cast member Eli Gelb (The Squid and the Whale, Holy Rollers).

The theatrical result of a unique international partnership between New York's Covenant House International and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London will be showcased this month at the star-studded Crossing Bridges Play Festival in Manhattan. The event, which is being held at the HELEN MILLS Event Space and Theatre on Sunday 22 March 2015, has also been made possible thanks to a line-up of Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners and nominees, all of whom have generously donated their time and talents to the project.

Theater for the New City will present Lesser America's World Premiere of Brian Watkin's (My Daughter Keeps Our Hammer with The Flea) family drama Wyoming, January 15-31 at Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue between 9th and 10th Street). The production will be directed by Danya Taymor (I Hate f**king Mexicans at The Flea). The cast and creative team will be announced in December.

Known for their international vision of new plays, The Play Company (PlayCo) is pleased to announce that Working on a Special Day, their 2013 co-production with Mexico City's Por Piedad Teatro, has gone on to a series of international engagements, including the Edinburgh Fringe (August 2013), Singapore's M1 Festival (January 2014) and the Adelaide Fringe Festival (February 2014 - Winner, Peace Foundation Award). After an award-winning engagement at the Prague Fringe Festival (May 2014 winner the Performance Award and the Creative Award) the play returns to the U.S. for a run at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Massachusetts; June 18-July 6.
