Victory Gardens Theater announces the extension of the first show of its 43rd season, Fun Home, with music written by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics written by Lisa Kron and directed by Gary Griffin. Fun Home now runs through November 19, 2017 at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce this year's line-up for the MIDDAY CABARETS and SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE hosted byCome From Away's Caesar Samayoa, which are part of the 29th annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS. Experience one prince's journey to save his beautiful princess with Marc Robin's musical adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, SLEEPING BEAUTY, brought to life for children of all ages at The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, from November 10 through December 30, 2017, with a press opening on Saturday, November 18 at 10:00 a.m. Filled with unconventional personalities, broken rules, and quests aplenty, this colorful, musical fairy tale will be directed and Scott Weinstein (Marriott Theatre: Cinderella After the Ball, The Princess & the Pea; Griffin Theatre: Ragtime, Bat Boy; Drury Lane: Rock of Ages).

FUN HOME runs at Victory Gardens Theatre through November 12. When her father dies unexpectedly, graphic novelist Alison dives deep into her past to tell the story of the volatile, brilliant, one-of-a-kind man whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the family's Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father's hidden desires.
