The Lion King officially returned to Broadway last night! Check out all new photos of the cast taking their first bow back since March 2020!

In celebration of their Broadway return, the cast of The Lion King performed this morning on Good Morning America! The cast began the performance from all across New York City-- from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Statue of Liberty-- and came together at the GMA studio in Times Square to a standing ovation.

The Broadway cast of The Lion King began rehearsals this week for the company’s reopening next month. As previously announced, The Lion King will resume performances on Tuesday, September 14 at the Minskoff Theatre.

92Y has announced the premiere screening of ...a movement. Journey., a specially commissioned dance film directed and choreographed by Hope Boykin on Saturday, August 29 at 7 pm ET. The date marks what would have been Charlie Parker's 100th birthday, and is part of Charlie Parker: Now's the Time - Celebrating Bird at 100.

The groundbreaking Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to the Kennedy Center for its annual engagement with seven performances on the Opera House stage from February 5 10. Celebrating its 60th Anniversary season, the company has had a long-standing impact on modern dance and uniqueness in promoting the African American cultural experience. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, the company's performances include Lazarus, the newest work by choreographer Rennie Harris co-commissioned by the Kennedy Center and premiered to acclaim during the company's recent New York season; three D.C. debuts; one new production; and a special Timeless Ailey classics program. Alvin Ailey's American masterpiece Revelations will be performed as the finale for all seven programs.

Famed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater marks its annual Kennedy Center engagement, February 6 11, with seven magnetic performances on the Opera House stage. Last night's Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's ODETTA premiere performance was star studded with guests including Harry Belafonte, Laverne Cox, Jessye Norman, Carmen de Lavallade,Bevy Smith, Suzanne Vega, Ruben Santiago Hudson, Michela Angela Davis, Khalil Kain, Rochelle Aytes, Pastors Michael A Walrond Jr., and Reverend LaKeesha Waldrond attending the world premiere of Matthew Rushing's. Fittingly, ODETTA, which celebrates the legendary singer known as the "voice of the Civil Rights Movement." premiered on National Human Rights Day. Fans can catch ODETTA seven more times this season: Dec 13 Mat, 14 eve, 18 eve, 20 eve, 26, 28 eve, 31 mat.

Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Ailey's 2013-14 Season at New York City Center kicked off December 4th with an Opening Night Gala Benefit hosted by Honorary Co-Chair Gabrielle Union. The event's co-chairs were Simin Allison & in memory, Herb Allison, Kathryn & Kenneth Chenault, Daria L. Foster & Erich J. Wallach, Agnes & Gerald Hassell, Debra L. Lee, and Joan & Sandy Weill. The evening helped raise over $2.4 million for the creation of new works and Alvin Ailey's extensive educational programs for young people, including AileyCamp and scholarships to The Ailey School. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater presents Ronald K. Brown's newest work, Four Corners. Set to the music of Carl Hancock Rux, Yacoub, and various other artists, the work brings to life the vision of four angels standing on the four corners of the earth holding the four winds.
