Acclaimed award-winning actor Rosalie Craig will return to the West End stage this summer to star as June Levant in the London premiere of Good Night, Oscar.

Former Donmar Warehouse artistic director Michael Longhurst swaps war for Italian football in a new, exuberant Royal Shakespeare Theatre adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing. The latest in a line of theatrical fixtures – including James Graham's award-winning Dear England and Tyrell Williams' Red Pitch ­­– this tale of returning heroes, their WAGs, rivalries and romance is sure to pull in plenty of young viewers.

Further casting for the West End premiere of Good Night, Oscar has been confirmed, with Ben Rappaport joining Emmy and Tony Award-winner Sean Hayes this summer, reprising his acclaimed role as legendary talk show host Jack Paar.

Trouble in Mind had its stage premiere more than sixty years ago. The biting satire written by Alice Childress centres on racism in theatre. As representation within the industry continues to be addressed, it feels a pertinent time for the National Theatre’s revival. Performers Emma Canning and Daniel Adeosun spoke with BroadwayWorld about the production, the industry and graduating drama school during the pandemic.

It's better late than never for a neglected classic to receive a major production. American dramatist Alice Childress's 1955 play Trouble in Mind is one such work with controversial beginnings and belated revivals. If Childress had agreed to revise her play in 1955-57 to make it more palatable for a predominantly white audience, then hers would have been the first play by a Black woman to be produced on Broadway.

Rehearsal imagery for Trouble In Mind by Alice Childress is released today. Opening in the Dorfman on December 2 and running until the 19 January, the production is directed by Nancy Medina with Tanya Moodie performing the role of Wiletta.
