Before a sellout crowd of over 1,000 at the Rose Hall Jazz at Lincoln Center, Covenant House honored Broadway stars Audra McDonald and Capathia Jenkins for their commitment to the young people at Covenant House at A Night of Broadway Stars that raised over $2 million to help end youth homelessness.

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts (www.usdan.org), one of the pre-eminent nonprofit arts day camps in the country, today announced the Festival line-up for its 50th Anniversary Season - which kicks off on June 26. Curated by Usdan's recently appointed Artistic Director Jonathan Shmidt Chapman, in partnership with Usdan students on the first-ever Camper Curatorial Council, the 2018 program consists of student performances as well as 14 different professional acts, representing genres from classical music and dance to poetry, musical theatre, and comedy.

Bandstand, Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor's Broadway musical directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), will bring high-octane, heart-stopping, spectacular dancing to movie theaters nationwide this summer in "BANDSTAND: The Broadway Musical on Screen." In addition to the feature content, audiences will enjoy behind-the-scenes and never-before-seen footage of the production.

Throughout the upcoming 2018-2019 season, the Carnegie Hall Citywide concert series will bring more than thirty free performances by top classical, jazz, world, and popular music artists to seventeen different venues across New York City. Emmy and Peabody Award-winning host Stephen Colbert of CBS's THE LATE SHOW will join CBS MORNING SHOW co-host John Dickersonand an all-star cast of Broadway royalty on the stage of the Rose Theatre at Jazz at Lincoln Center on June 18, 2018, as the international youth charity Covenant House presents its Beacon of Hope Award to Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award-winner Audra McDonald, and honors long-time supporters, Broadway veteran Capathia Jenkins and Take-Two Interactive, at the 2018 A Night of Broadway Stars gala concert.

It is always exciting when you sit in a theater to see the world premiere of a new musical. The Arena Stage's Kreeger Theater was a buzz in anticipation of SNOW CHILD which is a co-production with Alaska's Perseverance Theatre. Why Perseverance? Well, Arena Stage's Artistic Director Molly Smith actually grew up in Alaska, returned there after schooling and founded the Perseverance Theatre in Juneau. She served as Artistic Director there for 19 years before coming to Arena Stage. Four years ago, Smith and Perseverance Artistic Director Art Rotch discussed the idea for an adaptation for SNOW CHILD.

New York City based theatre podcast, Your Program Is Your Ticket, was recently in Chargin Falls, Ohio for the benefit performance of Broadway Comes to Chargin! The star-studded gala paid tribute to community theatres with proceeds from the benefit going towards The Chargin Valley Little Theatre (CVLT).

The star-filled concert, sponsored in part by the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) and the Hudson Theatre, showcased and shined a spotlight on Schwartz's beloved songs, stories, and legacy in celebration of his 70th Birthday. Though they played their final Broadway gig last fall, the Donny Nova Band is getting back together- this time for the big screen. According to Forbes, Bandstand, which won a Tony Award last year and played for 166 performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, will arrive in movie theatres across the country this June.
