The New York Pops announces the complete cast for its 35th Birthday Gala, Part of His World: The Songs of Alan Menkenon Monday, April 30, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, presented by The New York Pops. 

Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with the following acts:

Audiences have started to listen again at Studio 54. That's because Children of a Lesser God is back, and it officially opened last night on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God stars film and television favorite Joshua Jackson and breakout star Lauren Ridloff, alongside Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award winner Anthony Edwards, Drama Desk Award nominee and Obie Award winner Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond, and John McGinty. The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) today announced that Tony Award-winning performers Ben Platt (DEAR EVAN HANSEN), Rachel Bay Jones (DEAR EVAN HANSEN) and Laura Benanti (GYPSY); Tony, Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken; multiple Grammy and Academy Award-winning songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez (FROZEN, COCO) and double E.G.O.T.-winning songwriter Robert Lopez (FROZEN, COCO, AVENUE Q, BOOK OF MORMON); along with acclaimed soprano Renee Fleming (currently appearing on Broadway in CAROUSEL), will take the stage at the Hudson Theatre to toast the life and work of one of American theatre's greatest living composers, Stephen Schwartz, on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7pm EST. The star-filled concert, sponsored in part by the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) and the Hudson Theatre, will showcase and shine a spotlight on Schwartz's beloved songs, stories, and legacy in celebration of his 70th Birthday.

Created by Broadway star Betsy Wolfe and education professional Cynthia Rose, BroadwayEvolved will take place August 6-9, 2018 in NYC.

Escape to Margaritaville, the new musical featuring the songs of iconic singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett, opens tonight at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street) with a star-studded celebration of the eagerly anticipated musical's Broadway premiere.

?Ohio Artists Gathering, under the direction of Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award winner and Columbus native Mike Faist, (Dear Evan Hansen) will partner with Short North Stage on Friday, March 16th, from 8:00-10:30 PM, for an awareness building and development event titled 'Rapid Transit,' introducing Ohio natives working on Broadway and beyond, and featuring a performance by Public. A special pre-event reception will be held from 7:00-8:00 for donors and sponsors to meet Mr. Faist and other OAG artists. Broadway leading man and fellow Ohio native Corey Cott will make a special guest appearance.

There's a new school in town and it's revolutionizing the way musical theatre students receive an education. Andrew Drost and Michael Minarik are the masterminds behind the Institute for American Musical Theatre, a school that is all about getting students out onto stages working under the lights of Broadway theatres. Andrew and Michael took some time to introduce their school to us at BroadwayWorld, read below to find out just what they're cooking up.

It looks like things are about to get (even more) bloody for Archie and company, as Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the CW's high school drama RIVERDALE will be staging a production of CARRIE: THE MUSICAL this spring. The show's resident bad girl Cheryl Blossom (played by Madelaine Petsch) will play Carrie White in the episode.

Broadway's Krysta Rodriguez of the Tony Award nominated revival of Spring Awakening, joins the cast of the National Symphony Orchestra'sWest Side Story in Concert, led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, February 14, 16, and 17, 2018 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Rodriguez replaces previously announced Ana Villafa e as Anita, who has withdrawn due to scheduling conflicts.
