Disney's Aladdin just welcomed Arielle Jacobs as Jasmine on Broadway. Jacobs originated the role in the Australian production in 2016 and is the sister of original Broadway star Adam Jacobs, currently leading the North American tour in the title role. Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, have teamed up to celebrate the music of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, composers of THE FANTASTICKS, 110 IN THE SHADE, and I DO! I DO! and more. Demas and Rice have based their show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Jones and Schmidt.

Tony nominee Norm Lewis returns to Feinstein's/54 Below with his third holiday show from December 18 23. All shows are at 9:30pm. Each evening will feature special guest stars from Broadway and beyond.

According to Entertainment Weekly, stage and screen star Tituss Burgess' new musical- a stage adaptation of The Preacher's Wife- will get a reading next month in New York City, starring Loretta Devine and Ledisi.

Four-time Grammy Award nominee, and Tony Award winner Melba Moore has been crossing genres from Broadway to recording star to television personality since the early '70s. Never willing to stand still, Melba Moore has continued to perform in all genres and has remained one of the most enduring artists of the 21st century. She will bring her powerhouse vocal skills to SOPAC on Friday, November 11 at 8 p.m.

American Blues Theater opens its 2017-2018 Season with the Chicago Premiere of Beauty's Daughter by Dael Orlandersmith, directed by Ron OJ Parson, and Artistic Affiliate Wandachristine. Beauty's Daughter runs July 7 - August 5, 2017 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.
