Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has announced that Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will assume the role of Eliza Doolittle in its award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY, directed by Bartlett Sher, for a limited engagement beginning Tuesday, October 23 and currently scheduled through Sunday, February 17, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Lauren Ambrose, who originated the role in this production, will play her final performance on Sunday, October 21st before leaving to begin work on M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming Apple series.

K'Arts Ballet of Korea will present the American premiere of Song of the Mermaid, a fantasy ballet choreographed by SunHee Kim, running October 20 and 21 at New York City Center. Song of the Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's beloved tale 'The Little Mermaid,' will star Kimin Kim, principal dancer of Mariinsky Ballet, and feature 40 dancers and an original score composed by Hana Ryou.
Now entering its 56th season, the New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) is launching a Musical Theater Composition (MTC) program, to be led by newly-appointed director Anna K. Jacobs. This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

Opening the landmark 75th Anniversary Season, the Festival showcases an international array of dance artists and companies in five unique programs. Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena POPS close out their popular outdoor summer concert series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on Saturday, September 8 with Broadway Goes to the Movies. The POPS season finale will provide a quintessential Feinstein experience with some of Broadway's greatest performers recreating songs from hit shows that traveled from 42nd St. to Hollywood.
