Manhattan Theatre Club's Stargate Theatre 2018 Sharon Sullivan Company will perform an original piece, Five Hoods, this Wednesday, August 22 at 7:00PM, Thursday, August 23 at 7:00PM, and Friday, August 24 at 7:00PM at MTC Stage II at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Each performance will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes including a talkback onstage with the performer-writers. Seating is limited.

Five Hoods dramatizes a journey through life. Through original scenes, stories, and poetry written and performed by the members of Stargate Theatre's 2018 Sharon Sullivan Company, this new work explores the joys and perils of living and growing in today's world.

Manhattan Theatre Club is a preeminent, nonprofit producer of new work for the stage. Stargate Theatre is MTC Education's "theatre company within a theatre company." Stargate hires young men who have been involved with the justice system to create and perform an original play. Company members are guided by Stargate's Founding Artistic Director, Emmy Award-winner and playwright Judy Tate, and production director Andrew Goldberg.

MTC Education's Giving Voice initiative reaches hundreds of marginalized young people annually through the Stargate Theatre and Write on the Edge programs. Support for Giving Voice is provided by Sharon Sullivan and Jeffrey B. Kindler, The Tow Foundation, New York State Council on the Arts, Gina Leonetti, The Monteforte Foundation, Bendit Family Foundation, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Noah and Susanna Schankler, The Bulova Stetson Fund, Theatre Forward, The Broadway League, Diane and Bill Pulleyblank, Naomi Sinnreich, and Stephen C. Theoharis.
