NATPE Reveals 2020 Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award Recipients

The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) announced today that the recipients of NATPE's 17th Annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award are award-winning actress Christine Baranski, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke, prolific television creator, producer and writer Courtney A. Kemp, President of NBCUniversal's Telemundo Global Studios, Marcos Santana, and Chairman, WarnerMedia News and Sports & President, CNN Worldwide Jeff Zucker. They will receive the prestigious award during the NATPE Miami 2020 convention during a dinner gala on January 22, 2020, at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. The dinner, with its A-list attendees, benefits the NATPE Educational Foundation, with a portion going to the Broadcasters Federation of America (BFOA). Bob Holmes is returning as Executive Producer of the show.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Greater Los Angeles Honors Nina Jacobson, Michael Green, Anthony Lynn, And Kim Baldonado

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) honored outstanding members of the Los Angeles community at the annual Big Bash Gala on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills. Nina Jacobson, Founder and CEO of Color Force productions, received the 2019 Sherry Lansing Award, entrepreneur Michael Green received the 2019 Walt Disney Executive of the Year Award, Anthony Lynn, Head Coach for the Los Angeles Chargers, received the inaugural Defender of Potential Award in absentia. Kim Baldonado, KNBC's Emmy Award winning reporter, was honored as the 2019 BBBSLA Big Sister of the Year. Mike Shumard was the evening's emcee and led the fundraising appeal. Actress Heather Hemmens (If Loving You Is Wrong; Roswell, New Mexico) presented her testimonial as a mentor and 'Big Sister'. The BBBSLA Big Bash Gala benefits youth facing adversity from underserved communities in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Norman reconnects with an old flame from his youth (guest star Jane Seymour) and after fifty years, they decide to start again. Nancy Travis and Sarah Baker co-star.

THE BIG BANG THEORY Streaming Rights Go to HBO Max

Deadline reports that new streaming service HBO Max has achieved its goal of securing the streaming rights to The Big Bang Theory. The series will be available when the streamer launches in 2020.

Kim Wayans Will Play God In AN ACT OF GOD At Bristol Riverside Theatre

Bristol Riverside Theatre will kick off its 33rd Season by putting God centerstage in the sinfully funny An Act of God by 13-time Emmy winner David Javerbaum. Seated at the staircase to Heaven, audiences will find national TV, film and comedy star Kim Wayans. The In Living Color alum, and a member of the famous Wayans family, will rule the universe in a new comedy penned by former The Daily Show with Jon Stewart writer Javerbaum. The play, which was a smash hit on Broadway, was based on Javerbaum's Twitter persona @TheTweetofGod, which now boasts six million followers. An Act of God is directed by BRT Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson. The show will run for 28 performances, from September 17 to October 13, 2019, with the press opening on Thursday, September 19 at 7:30pm. All performances are at Bristol Riverside Theatre in Bucks County, located at 120 Radcliffe Street. Tickets start at $43 and are available online at brtstage.org, at the theatre's box office, or over the phone at 215-785-0100.

Barenaked Ladies Release Extended Acoustic EP

Multi-platinum pop-rock band BARENAKED LADIES have released FAKE NUDES: NAKED, a special digital-only extended EP, which features acoustic renditions of 8 songs from the band's fifteenth studio album, Fake Nudes.  Additionally, the band released the Edward Pond-directed performance video of “Bringing it Home,” which can be seen HERE.  The EP and video release comes on the heels of last night's kickoff show for the “Group Therapy Tour,” a 44-city run that will see Barenaked Ladies summering on the road with Hootie & The Blowfish. 

BIG BANG THEORY Brings Back Barenaked Ladies To Celebrate Series Finale

A dozen years after executive producers Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady asked Barenaked Ladies to compose a theme song for a new show they'd created called “The Big Bang Theory,” the multi-platinum band was invited back for last night's historic series finale. Vocalist/guitarist Ed Robertson recorded a special acoustic rendition for the momentous occasion, which can be seen by clicking HERE and heard  on all streaming platforms (along with an instrumental version) by clicking HERE.

The Head And The Heart, JoJo Announced as Guest Artists For 2019 GRAMMY Camp Los Angeles

The GRAMMY Museum® announced today that 90 talented high school students from 74 U.S. cities across 23 states have been selected as participants in the 15th annual GRAMMY Camp® program, and The Head And The Heart and JoJo will be this year's guest artists. The signature music industry camp for U.S. high school students will be held in Los Angeles from Tuesday, July 23–Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music.
