TimeLine Theatre Company announces the cast and creative team for the Chicago premiere of Too Heavy for Your Pocket, which doubles as the Chicago debut of rising young playwright and TV writer Jir h Breon Holder, recently named one of Tomorrow's Marquee Names, Now in the Making by The New York Times.

In its 23rd season, First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83.) is exploring the consequences of today's info-saturated environment with Meridith Friedman's politically-charged production THE FIRESTORM. Directed by Artistic Associate Rachel Lambert, THE FIRESTORM highlights the repercussions "call-out culture" has on relationships, explores the challenges and triumphs of interracial relationships, and notes how couples can navigate the world together in a highly-politicized society. THE FIRESTORM previews March 27-29, opens March 30 and runs through April 28, 2019.

Lifeline Theatre presents The Man Who Was Thursday, adapted by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Bilal Dardai and directed by Jess Hutchinson. Dardai and Hutchinson return to this 1908 satire after having first mounted it at New Leaf Theatre, where Hutchinson was the Artistic Director, in 2009 (Non-Equity Jeff nomination: New Adaptation) to re-explore this absurdist tale of identity and intrigue for a new decade.

College of DuPage (COD) College Theater presents Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," adapted by William J. Norris and directed by COD Professor of Theater, Amelia Barrett at the McAninch Arts Center, Thanksgiving Weekend, Nov. 23-25. In addition, a performance has been added for area school children, grades 2nd and up Monday, Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. Audience members arriving early to the Nov. 23-25 performances will be serenaded with Christmas songs by members of the cast, and Santa will be in the lobby following the matinee performances on Nov. 23 and 24, to chat and pose for photos.
