Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon, opens the riveting murder mystery "Miss Holmes," by Christopher M. Walsh, based on the characters by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle today, July 4. In this deadly and thrilling story, Walsh's Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are intelligent and independent women in 19th Century England.

American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) and the Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts at Northwestern University announce the Equity cast members of Something in the Game: An All-American Musical, directed and choreographed by David H. Bell with book by Buddy Farmer, music by Michael Mahler and lyrics by David H. Bell and Michael Mahler. The production will run July 20 - August 5 at the Josephine Louis Theater, 20 Arts Circle Drive, on the Northwestern Evanston campus. The Press Opening is Saturday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Chicago's premier outdoor professional theatre, First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83), presents the world premiere of SHREW'D!, a new musical based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, adapted by Executive Director David Rice and Lydia Hiller, with music by Christopher Kriz and lyrics by Lydia Hiller and David Rice.  Directed by Johanna McKenzie Miller, SHREW'D! previews July 11-13, opens July 14 and runs through August 19, 2018.

Written by Stephen Massicotte, MARY'S WEDDING, a remarkable love story about survival and optimism during a tragic time in history, originally enjoyed a successful premiere at the 2002 playRites Festival at Alberta Theatre Projects. The production then went on to win the 2002 Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding New Play and the 2003 Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award for Drama.
