Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) is proud to announce that its upcoming season will mark the professional theatre's 25th Silver Anniversary, exclusively sponsored by The Thoresen Foundation. Co-Founder and Artistic Director Robert J. Farley has announced a special lineup of shows for this milestone and says, "Our 25th Silver Anniversary is going to be one big party all year long. Each play I have selected to celebrate this occasion has been chosen as a tribute to our subscribers, donors, sponsors, and supporters." 

The creative team of Christian Albright and Christian Magby started wondering what happened to Mary before and after Jesus's birth. It is something that the Bible does not go into detail and so they pondered what type of narrative she might have, and that is exactly how MOTHER OF GOD came to be.

The Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival, now in its second year, is becoming the premiere musical theatre festival in the Southeast. Local artists, professional producers, members of the media, and theatre patrons will assemble for three thrilling nights of original musical theatre performances. The festival received submissions from around the world, and three diverse musical productions have been selected to be showcased.

Atlanta is slowly becoming a haven for theatre and acting. Take a look at how many theatre companies are located in the metro-Atlanta area or the increased participation in the Shuler Hensley Awards (Tony Awards for high schools in Georgia). We could also take a tour of Pinewood Atlanta Studios to see where 'Spiderman: Homecoming' or 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' was filmed.

The Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival is thrilled to announce the selections for the Second Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), which will be held July 30 and 31, and August 1, 2017, at Out Front Theatre. The AMTF will be three nights of original musical theatre performances by local artists, as well as showcase performances of professional productions and educational groups. Performances will be open to the artistic community, the public, and the press. Twenty-two submissions were accepted and three shows have been selected for the second annual event. Tickets are $15-45 (not including taxes and fees), and will go on sale June 19th at www.TheAMTF.com. All three productions will be performed at Out Front Theatre, at 8pm on Sunday, July 30, Monday, July 31 and Tuesday, August 1. Out Front Theatre is located at 999 Brady Avenue Atlanta, GA 30318.

Make spirits bright this winter by joining Aurora Theatre for its annual holly jolly tradition Christmas Canteen 2016! Written by Hamilton creator and pop culture icon Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Tony Award and Grammy Award-winning In the Heights, playing now through August 28, opens Aurora Theatre's 2016-17 Peach State Federal Credit Union Signature Series before heading to Theatrical Outfit September 8-18. This universal tale, a co-production with Theatrical Outfit, delivers a poignant message on the power of family and the strength of community in the face of adversity. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival.
