The Contingency Plan: On the Beach and Resilience, the extraordinary climate change double bill by Steve Waters will now be staged at Sheffield’s Crucible theatre between Friday 14 October and Saturday 5 November 2022 (Press Day Fri 21 October 2022).

Orange Tree Theatre Artistic Director, Paul Miller, today announces he will be stepping down from his role at the South-West London theatre in the coming year.

In the title role of Julie is Heledd Gwynn and she is joined by is Tim Pritchett in the role of John. Completing the cast is Catrin Aaron, who returns to Theatr Clwyd as Christine.

Now in its fifth year, the award – which honours the memory of RTST co-founder, Sir Peter Hall – offers the winner their first-time opportunity to direct a full-scale, fully funded, mid-scale regional touring production of a classic or modern play, which may be an existing play or a new adaptation of a novel or film.

Riverside Studios today announces further programming for its inaugural Christmas season in association with New Frame Productions, including an evening of unplugged performance with West End Acoustic featuring SIX's Maiya Quansah-Breed and Renée Lamb, Wicked's Nicholas McLean, Jesus Christ Superstar's Tyrone Huntley and Dear Evan Hansen's Oliver Award-winning Sam Tutty.

Theatre Royal Bath Productions today announces three new premieres to open at the Ustinov Studio including Hansol Jung's Wild Goose Dreams which premieres next month (21 November to 21 December) with opening night for press on 27 November, Will Eno's Drama Desk Award winning play The Realistic Joneses (6 February to 7 March), followed by the latest drama from emerging playwright Kate Attwell, Testmatch (2 April to 9 May 2020), in a co-production with English Touring Theatre.

The Orange Tree Theatre presents Mike Noble (The Almighty Sometimes, Royal Exchange; Road, Royal Court; Christopher in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in the West End) and Charlotte Randle (Yerma, Young Vic/New York; Medea, Almeida) in the world premiere of Rose Lewenstein's new play Cougar, a co-production with English Touring Theatre, which explores the impact of climate change and consumerism.

Possession, power and control, with climate change thrown in. Cougar is a new play by Rose Lewenstein which is essentially a series of 80 snapshots into the lifespan of a dysfunctional relationship between younger ex-barman John and older, highly successful executive Leila set in the confines of a number of anonymous hotel rooms around the world.
